Re: Life and trauma

@MJG017 so very true.

Awww she just wants to be close to you. The comments i could make about keeping the legs closed but I'll behave myself 😂. When they are comfy though we don't want to disturb them even if that means that we sacrifice our own comfort. I don't know how many times my legs or an arm went numb cos I had a dog laying on it and I didn't want to disturb them. Starla the one I had to hand back to the breeder in December she slept on my pillow every night from the day I got her, wasn't so bad when she was little but by the time she was 6 months old she took up my entire pillow 😂. I really do miss having a dog, the cuddles, the companionship, the walks and adventures together, my heart feels empty without one.

It's funny how even a cat sleeping on the bed at night can eventually have us twisted up in the corner because we don't want to distrub them.... laying there thinking "how the heck am I going to get to sleep laying here like a pretzel!"

You.never really feel alone when there's a pet in the house do you. And it's always nice to get home and be eagerly greeted. It's small things, but makes such a huge difference.

Re: Life and trauma

@MJG017 that's exactly right, i had 3 full grown Labradors sleeping on my bed for many years so you can imagine there wasn't much room for me but yet I loved every second of it. I usually had 1 up by my face laying on my arm, 1 in between my legs and 1 pushed up against my back.

I miss the wagging tails and butt wiggles when I would come home, the greeting me with a toy in their mouth. Now when I come home it's just empty and lonely. Sometimes it's like they are still here, i hear their nails tapping down the hallway or one of their toys has been moved to another room, or I hear the thud as one jumps off my bed. It's like they make their presence known so that I know I'm not truly alone. I know that probably sounds crazy but it's just how I feel.

Nah, it's not crazy at all. They live on and stay with you in your memories. It may just be in your mind but it still has meaning and power.

2 cats on the bed is hard enough, I can only imagine how 3 labradors may take up a fair chunk of the bed space. Still it would be very warm in winter. Ryker will get under the blanket when it's cold and curl up against me. He's a large cat, but when it's cold, spooning even a large cat is no match for a good ol' electric blanket! 😁

Re: Life and trauma

@MJG017 love that he gets under the covers to snuggle. I never needed an electric blanket when they were all on the bed but I do now when it starts getting cooler.

I'm thinking of what I'm going to clean tomorrow. I did 2 rooms today so they are ready to go other than just needed a quick vacuum. I still have the clothes to put away in my room which will only take a few minutes, the loungeroom only needs a general tidy and dusting, the kitchen is pretty much done other than my table in the dining area where all my craft and colouring stuff is and the laundry just needs a general clean and of course the bathroom and toilet are the last 2 rooms I do.

It looks like it's going to be a nice day tomorrow, so maybe a bit of tidying up outside or in the yard.

It's a pity it's not here... there'd be tidying work to keep you busy for weeks! 🤣

Re: Life and trauma

@MJG017 there's not much to do outside. The lawns need to be mowed but I can't do that which means i have to have my ex over to do them cos I can't afford to pay anyone. That makes for one very uncomfortable situation for me but I don't have a choice. Don't get me wrong I'm grateful that he will do it for me but it always comes at a cost.

I've told you to let me at your house, I'll gladly tidy anything up 😂.

It sucks that he won't mow your lawn just to be helpful.

Well I think it sounds like you might clean a little too well! My partner would probably decide to keep you and fire me! 🤣

Re: Life and trauma

@MJG017 but that would make things to easy.

I'm good at cleaning just not so much at getting rid of stuff 😂.

I can hear voices outside which is unusual for my area, it's normally quiet.

@Former-Member

I have both problems... The tidying and the stuff!

We get voices outside every now and then. Usually either neighbours or people walking past.
