Re: Life and trauma
Morning @Ru-bee . I'm having a bit of a crappy moment. I was cleaning and found all the dogs blankets and I had to refold them, now I'm in tears remembering all the good times I had with my babies and how much I miss them. What I would do for just one more cuddle with them all 😭

@Ru-bee
Hi, how are you this morning?
I am just doing a paint by numbers.
The only problem is that the paint is too thick. Might try thinning it with a bit of water today.

Sometimes memories are bittersweet.
Try and remember the good times with your puppies.

Re: Life and trauma
Thanks @Oaktree . I am remembering the good times, it just hurts. Even sitting on my lounge and i have a toy tub next to me that has all their toys in it. Feeling completely heartbroken at the moment 💔

Oh that's so hard @Former-Member I don't think we can ever have enough time with our pets. It's clear that your pups clearly touched your life significantly, and that you had (and still do have) so much love for them, and that is a beautiful thing, even though it makes the loss that much harder
@Oaktree ooh, fun. I love all of the awesome paint by numbers you can get now
I'm good, having a bit of a slow day today - or rather I'm feeling slow today haha

Re: Life and trauma
@Ru-bee they were all such a huge part of my life and got me through some of my darkest days. Anyway must push these tears aside and continue on with my cleaning. I plan to stop at 12 and sit down with my colouring. So much to do but can't push myself too hard at the moment.

I have no idea on whether they think what they say is helping with some kind of 'tough love' approach or they are just bad at what they do. I didn't find any of them really understood at all. The only one I actually still go to and seems to have any understanding is my adoption counselor. We talk about my health and the stress with that as well, and she's been very helpful with everything.
It must be tough having to fold up those blankets. Obviously a lot of strong emotions. At least you can still think of the good memories and how important they were to you at the time. I've had pets my whole life, so i know it's always hard when you miss them. They always felt far more like family to me than my own family. Continue to keep their memories alive.

@MJG017 I'm not sure why they chose to be in those positions if their hearts in it. I'm glad that you have you adoption counsellor and it sounds like that's really helpful for you.
It was very hard and they are still covered with their hair. That's the thing they aren’t just pets, they are family. It's been over 20 years since I've not had dogs with me and it's taking such a toll on me mentally not having one.
How's your day been, you been up to much?

It must be hard not having a dog around after so long of being used to having them around you. Maybe in the future you can have another one.
My day has been quiet so far. I had my first online session for my Cert IV class this morning. It went okay up until a discussion near the end that has me doubting a few things, but maybe it's just my own self-doubts talking. I completed my first assignment last night. I say 'completed'... i've answered all the questions with my endless waffle but i haven't gone back and reread it to do corrections and tidy it up etc. So that may be tomorrow.
Although I have to be in the city at about 3.30pm tomorrow. As a support group leader, I was invited to a workshop for improving sexual well-being support for men with prostate cancer. Not exactly my field of expertise 🤣 I'll just try not to giggle. The researcher running it is also a member of a hospital steering committee i just started on so it was hard to refuse. No pun intended.
How is your day going?

Re: Life and trauma
@MJG017 it's sort of on the cards but all depends on the breeder where i got my girl from that I lost to renal dysplasia.
Being that it's your first one i think it's only normal to have some doubts towards it. I do feel for the person that has to read your endless waffle 😂.
Sounds like a fun meeting tomorrow, not sure I'd be any good at trying not to giggle. I'm just great at laughing at inappropriate things 😂. I do hope it all goes well though.
I did some cleaning, then sat down to do some colouring but I haven't even done any. Feelings and emotions are running rampant today so I'm just focusing on keeping myself distracted and connected here.
