@MJG017 how was your day? How did you go with the horrible heat today?

@Former-Member

My day was okay, I swapped between sitting inside on the PC and going in the pool. Very lucky, I know to have that option. Then I braved the heat to meet a couple of the guys from my support group for dinner. So all in all, not a bad day.

It sounds like you had a tough one. I hope you're feeling better now after the seizure.

@MJG017 very lucky to have that option, still very jealous 😂. Going out for dinner would have been nice and a great way to finish off the day.

I'm still struggling from the seizure and feel there's more on the way. My body is so sore and I'm exhausted but I can't seem to rest.

Breathe just breathe, calm down, it's going to be ok. Is it really, will things ever be ok? Why is this happening?

I don't know what I'm supposed to do.

Need some reassurance right about now.

Keep on doing what you're doing @Former-Member keep on breathing, you're doing so good

Things will be okay. They say the one constant in life is change, which means this won't last forever, even though it might seem that way right now.

We're here for you ❤️

Re: Life and trauma

Thanks @Ru-bee . It hasn't been a great start to the day for me and I'm just left questioning everything. Change is scary and overwhelming for me right now and no amount of telling myself that it's going to be ok is helping.

Breathing and trying to keep myself in this moment and grounded is a real challenge. I'm struggling to work out what's real and what isn't especially with these flashbacks that aren't stopping. It's like I'm here for some moments but then I'm there in other moments.

Change can be tough in the best of times @Former-Member

Do you find focusing on the 5 senses helpful? Listing what you can see, hear, feel, smell and taste.

Or perhaps running your hands under cold water and just trying to focus on that feeling?

Re: Life and trauma

@Ru-bee I've been trying the 5 senses but I get to smell and that's it my mind loses it.

I'm trying hard to focus on things around me just naming the colours of certain objects.

Re: Life and trauma

Sounds like you're doing a really good job @Former-Member and taking care to only engage with techniques that you know are more helpful for you. Calling on those when you're heightened isn't easy, so I do just want to acknowledge that while it might not feel like it, you're doing awesome and showing heaps of strength right now

Thankyou @Ru-bee ❤️. I've finally brought myself back into the present for now. I'm so tired but I'm scared to fall asleep, my eyes are so heavy and the tears just won't stop but I don't even know why I'm crying.
