Re: Life and trauma
@Former-Memberthats why i need the rests. My blood pressure drops significantly as soon as i stand! Postural hypotension and/or autonomic neuropathy apparently. On the plus side, i know far more big words now
🤣

Re: Life and trauma
@MJG017 I was diagnosed with postural hypotension as a child, isn't it great fun! Good thing about it is that I rarely actually faint from it cos I know the feeling all too well. Big words are so much fun especially if you can confuse people and make yourself look smart.
I am not ready for the day and I'm finding myself quite emotional. I just need to get through this day that's all I'm trying to tell myself right now.

Re: Life and trauma
@Former-MemberI was only diagnosed about 6 years ago, but it had been a progressively worsening issue for quite a while before that. Ive never actually fainted from it either, but its gotten very close a few times, especially before i knew what the issue was and just tried to push through the warning signs. Its easier now that i know whats going on and how to work around it, but its so frustrating not being able to do simple things like i used to be able to do. Still, i do get to surprise doctors when i prove it too rhem and rhey take my blood pressure again while im standing. Ive been asked "how are you even standing?" more than once. 😄
I hope you manage to make it through the day and get some decent rest. Just do the best you can, no one can ask for anymore. If anyone says anything, just tell them some weird person on the internet kept you up all night! 🤣

Re: Life and trauma
@MJG017 at least you have an answer now and get understand what's going on. When my heart rate spikes to 180 and my blood pressure is 77/33 it's definitely not a nice feeling and it baffles doctors that I'm still conscious 🤣.
I'm not able to rest and I've been screamed at most of the morning and reminded just how much of a crappy person I am. But I just have to put on a brave face and pretend that everything is ok.
You have no idea how thankful I am that you chatted to me throughout the night and I'm not sure how I would have got through without that.

Re: Life and trauma
@Former-Member I've had about 70/50, but the heart rate is generally 70-80. Now even i am asking "how are you conscious?" with those numbers! A friend got electrocuted about 4 years ago at work and she has had heart issues ever since at here heart rate will shoot up to similar numbers, so i've seen what that can do to you. Doctors tried everything with her for 3 years but eventually went with a pacemaker... at 35 years old!
I would see being screamed at this morning as a reminder of what a crappy person they are! What a.... well I can't swear and nothing else seems appropriate. I'm so sorry who how to deal with (again... can't swear) like that, let alone on top of everything else! Just know that it reflects more on them than it does you.
Any you're welcome with last night, im really glad that it helped to get you through. If i do manage to find out anything about one of those person "off switched" I'll let you know. 🤣 I hope your afternoon is at least an improvement on your morning.

Re: Life and trauma
@MJG017 having low blood pressure isn't nice. See that's funny cos I get electric shocks every time I touch power switches or light switches and they spark at me, I even get a shock when I touch fruit and veg at the shops. I've been hooked up to defib pads so many times cos doctors have been sure that my heart was going to stop, scariest feeling was when they actually gave me the drug that stops your heart temporarily in the hope of getting it back into a normal rhythm. I'm in my 30's.
It's a very draining day for me and I'm trying to not let others get to me but it's not easy with how I'm feeling. I just really look forward to my bed tonight and I'm hoping i can sleep.

Awww @Former-Member ,
I'm sitting with you.
That's a scary thing to be so young and have to be told that they have to stop your heart.
I've been in a coronary care unit in hospital because of my heart. I think I was in my late 20s or early 30s. That was scary. To see yourself amongst all the elderly. Some people thought I was a nurse there and asked me to do things for them... I'm like.. what?
Hope things improve for you @Former-Member

Re: Life and trauma
@tyme thankyou. It's definitely scary and wasn't a pleasant feeling. But they were with me the entire time and made me feel as comfortable as possible. Yes I've ended up in the cardiac ward and it's very confronting being so young in amongst the older people.

I'm glad they did they could to keep you comfy. @Former-Member
To be honest, from my own experiences, I really appreciate all doctors and nurses in hospitals. I feel they do an amazing job for the pressure they have...
They aren't perfect, but who is?
Everyone is trying their best.

Re: Life and trauma
@tyme I've only had a couple of doctors and nurses that weren't nice but the majority have been amazing. They are very unappreciated by alot of people and they get treated very unfairly by some patients.
