Hey @BlueBay
It is so tough juggling work with mental health. The reality is that most jobs and workplaces just aren't made to accommodate for MI. Sometimes I've definitely felt like I've been treated more like a machine rather than a human in past jobs, had jobs where I was told proudly in the interview by a manager that they hadn't taken a sick/personal day in years and that's what they expected from others too (ironically I was in this job when covid hit and taking sick leave became very important), had a job where there was mass burnout and the company would blame the employees and make it harder to take personal leave, rather than addressing the obvious issues in the work culture there.
Being unwell and not supported by your workplace is not a personal failing, it's the system failing you as a human and that absolutely sucks.
I'm sorry you're in this position. I've gone through financial stress for years too and I get how all-consuming and overwhelming it can be, so be gentle with yourself if you can.

@BlueBay aww hun, I am sending you many hugs! I am right there with @Ru-bee - we are absolutely DRENCHED in hustle culture! We are basically told that our entire worth as human beings is dependent entirely on having a good job and making lots of money. Not only that, but it also punishes people who for whatever reason cannot do this. Society should be supporting you right now, not the other way around!!

Hi @tyme
I’m very confused. I saw my counsellor today and told her my psych thinks my new AD aren’t working. My counsellor asked me “why do you think it’s not working” - I don’t know! She then says I think you’re not suffering from depression at all. You have only anxiety!!! She’s not my psych.
now I think do I not have depression. But I feel like I do. So why would she say that? Just because the meds aren’t working
my psych will be angry because this counsellor told me at my first appt that I didn’t have BPD. Th ex n she told me I have ADHD. But my psych totally disagreed and was angry that she told me that.
I am confused.

Um... is your counsellor qualified to make those judgments? @BlueBay When it comes to anti-depressants, there are sooo many different types. Just because one doesn't work, it doesn't mean none will work.
I have a coach who is a psychologist. She said that BPD and ADHD are very closely linked and often, those with ADHD are misdiagnosed with BPD. What are your thoughts on that?
I have BPD. Yet I'm going through an ADHD assessment. Why? Because I don't have any issues with my BPD now (I think), but I'm struggling with noise sensitivity, inability to direct my focus etc. And it seems to be troubling me more nowadays.

No this counsellor should not be telling me what she did.
I am seeing my psychiatrist tomorrow and I will speak to her. Only psychiatrist can make a diagnosis.
yes I’ve heard before that BPD and ADHD are closely linked. Yes I’m like you with noise sensitivity even more so now as I’m getting older. Also I struggle hugely with boredom and inability to make decisions.
staying focused on one thing is a problem too.
I’ll let you know what my psychiatrist says tomo.

Well yesterday, I grabbed the dog and pulled her out to walk...and walk...and walk. @BlueBay
I was so escalated and wanted everything to STOP.
