Struggling to handle a few things

Struggling to handle a few things

So a few weeks ago I was told that I have ADHD and bipolar with PTSD. I also suffer from severe depression and anxiety. I’m on medication for PTSD depression and anxiety. I’m just waiting for further testing on how bad my ADHD and bipolar is. I have real bad highs and lows every day and I struggle to open up to anyone because the last few times I actually have opened up to people. They have used what I have said against me so now I guess I just keep everything to myself, which is making everything else worse I struggle making friends let alone talking to people and more of a text message. Type person that way people can’t see my emotion attend to be closed off a lot and shut down randomly. I honestly don’t know what I want in life let alone what I want to do with my life,Sorry if this is boring you or not I just thought maybe I might try. Thanks

Re: Struggling to handle a few things

First off, congratulations for being brave enough to take responsibility for your mental health because that's an incredible achievement! Remember - you are not defined by negative beliefs you hold about yourself. You are capable of healing, and you are worthy of love and friendship. It is unfortunate that we still live in a day and age where mental health is deeply stigmatised, and this is not your fault. You were brave enough to share your diagnosis with others, and look, it may take others some time to process, but those who matter-- will love you no matter what and do what they can to support you through the good and the bad. Look after yourself x

@mypizzasinsane9 Thank you 😊 I have struggled with these issues most of my life, I was an alcoholic at a young age because I found it easier to numb the pain by drinking every day and night. I have now been sober for almost 3 years (21st January) but still struggle with my mental health. Each day I feel like it’s just like the last and that everything is on repeat and I’m just going round in circles. Most days I’m on a low then randomly I get on a high then I’m back low again and always in my head about things that I can’t control.

Welcome to the forums @Royal93 & @mypizzasinsane9 it's lovely to e-meet you both 💜

@Royal93 i'm really sorry to hear that people have shut you off and used what you said against you in the past. i know how much strength and vulnerability it takes in opening up about one's mental health, you deserve to have people listen with empathy and kindness. i hope the forums provide you a space to be yourself and make connections, we do not judge here.

from what you mentioned about your diagnosis, i'm assuming you have a psych or other mental health professional you can talk to?

Re: Struggling to handle a few things

@rav3n thank you for your kind words, no I don’t have any as I struggle to deal with people in real life, I’m the type who will message not talk. It’s way more easier for me to communicate that way as I can hide my emotions and all that and when I feel like I have had enough I can always not reply if that makes sense. I am a very closed off person now due to my issues and what has happened in the past.
