Hi @kris1979

deeply sorry for your loss. I imagine this is quite difficult at the moment and you are feeling overwhelmed.
grief is never an easy process. Talking about how you feel is a really brave first step.

Re: Loss of partner

it really hasnt been easy and reaching out to others has been rather tedious and sometimes not helpful

Re: Loss of partner

Hi @kris1979

I'm sorry you've lost your partner, and at such a young age too! It must be so incredibly hard right now. I must admit, I've been down to Centennial Park more times that i would like over the past few years. And i know it does make it so much hard when you have to grieve alone.

But we're here if you want to talk about it and feel less alone.

Re: Loss of partner

@kris1979 Dont feel like you have to rush back into anything right now. You may feel like you just want to do anything to distract yourself but you just need to give yourself time to grieve and just look after youself as well.

Would it help you to share a little bit about your partner with us? To share some of those great memories you have of her. Its completely understandable if that's too hard or painful right now, but it does help some people so it's just a thought I had.

Sorry again for you loss Kris. We're here for whatever you need from us right now.

Re: Loss of partner

thanks i still feel very lost and would like a bit more support than i have been getting i mean both my brothers have full time jobs so they cant help both mum and dad have passed and i feel like my partners family doesnt even really check up on me . im still seeing a psychologist but they can only do so much.

and i feel that the people who i thought i could reach out to dont have time for me ( i get they have their own lives and such) but just taking time out to either visit or just to see if im ok and such would help

Re: Loss of partner

I hear you @kris1979 Please know that we're always here for you, but it is completely understandable to be wanting some more support from those around you. Sometimes people don't know how to respond when a loved one is grieving, they might even be thinking that they don't want to be a bother to you while you're going through this.

Some people do really have a gift and will instinctively know how and when to show up for others, but then some people need to be prompted. I'm wondering if you would feel comfortable to reach out to your friends and let them know what you're needing right now? - Let them know that you're just needing them to be there from time to time and to check in on you. In an ideal world you wouldn't have to ask, but sometimes people need to be guided.
