Getting along with my carer
@tyme @Oaktree @Shaz51 @MJG017
I just had an argument with my carer and asked him for some space.
Put on some Zouk music to chill to now.
Feeling overstimulated

I don't have kids of my own kids, but I get just how you would want to do anything to make them happy to the point where it could blind you if you thought you knew how to fix it. Maybe even just to say that the current way is just not working so could he just try it your way for a while... just to give you one less thing to stress about. It sounds like he does desperately want to help but just needs to understand he needs to work with you right now. Hopefully he does see that very soon. I think it's a male thing... we just have this obsession to fix things. It works for objects, not so much with people.

Hi @Spirit_Healer ,
Have you heard back from PARC yet?
How are you today?

good on you for standing up for yourself!! @Spirit_Healer and like the others have mentioned, he may need some time to really process that and be reminded that he needs to step back. the important part is you spoke up, hope you're proud yourself for that!
i was also curious about PARC, any updates?

@MJG017 thank you again for putting my Dad's thinking in perspective. I do agree that he tends to want to problem-solve rather than empathise at times.
@rav3n @tyme You'll be glad to hear that I was admitted to WPARC yesterday evening!
It's so chill, just what I need right now.
Time to focus on myself and my recovery!

This is my second time in the same PARC location...the first was 15 years ago, under a mixed-gender PARC with old management. I have to say I much prefer this one...the women-only environment makes me feel safer and the staff are much better at living out their values under this new management. More holistic and caring.

That's so great @Spirit_Healer .
The only thing I don't like about the recent changes are the 2 week stays. I felt I really needed the 4 weeks minimum
