I dunno if it helps, we've got a bit of info on Bipolar you can look through. The main thing that needs to be present for a diagnosis, as far as I know, is at least one episode of mania. I hope you're able to get the right support and insight to help him figure things out 🤞

It's hard when they're not sure of diagnoses @Shaz51 . I remember years back when you started the let's talk about Bipolar thread they thought he might have bipolar. I don't remember whether the meds disagreed with him. But there are several different sorts of meds they can try for it. Trouble is, you need to give it time to see if it helps, it doesn't happen overnight.

Thanks for the update @Shaz51, have been thinking of you and mr shaz. Really glad he has reached out to services when he hasn’t been feeling well. Pretty stressful times for you though, I can only imagine all the emotions you are feeling 🙏

The fact that he's calling lifeline, and other places shows that he's trying, which is a good start.

Sitting in a space like that with someone that you care about so much, couldn't have been easy. You're doing so well to look out for him! It's not something that you should have to manage on your own though, so going for a doctor's appointment to get him some extra support sounds like a great idea.

When supporting someone else so close to us, it can be hard to remember to care for ourselves. I hope that you're also taking the time to care for yourself and your mental health 🌹 We can't pour on other people's glasses, if we're running empty after all!
