Anyone started with the NDIS?

Anyone started with the NDIS?

Tells my story from initial application (Feb '17) to acceptance by NDIS (July '18) and the process of putting things in place and progress, improvements, managing and difficulties since then. Now Jan '21.

Original post : I've recently moved and will need to get into the NDIS in my new location. Wondering if anyone in the forums has successfully done this? Any advice would be welcome. Feeling swamped by their website.

EDIT : I was finally accepted to the NDIS and am now 3/4 through my 2nd plan. With only a small reduction from the first year. And this plan is for 2 years so I don't have to jump through all the hoops with a review this time next year. To all others on this path I say ........

IT'S REALLY WORTH PERSEVERING!!!

Hoping this thread helps all who come here.

I don't either @Bunniekins My adult child is legally blind so I dealt with 'the system' for all the years they lived at home too. Early intervention, Royal Blind Society, Special Ed. etc etc

I feel for you as your son sounds less able to become independent eventually. It's good that you get some respite, I know it can make all the difference for you as carer.

I'm very glad to hear you have an advocate.

How I'm feeling about tomorrow morning - case conference with Administrative Appeals Tribunal and NDIS and my lawyers. Everything that can be done to prepare for it has been done and nothing I do tonight will change what happens tomorrow. So I've had a couple of drinks and I'm dancing to Gondwana Land's Boneman.

Trusting that Lady Luck will shine upon you, and that all your hard work will pay off even if luck doesn't!

Best of good wishes to you @eth
