Am Not Coping

Am Not Coping

I am really not coping at the moment but this is entirely on ME!

This is a message for a few people on here @utopia @Former-Member @Faith-and-Hope @Former-Member

that I asked could be passed on but it seems that only part of it has been and I understand from the responses that have made it through my emails that I have caused untold distress for some people. I was not going to return because of what I felt I put people through but I especially wanted @utopia and @Former-Member to know that they were not wrong at the time and I was going through a real crisis period. You both held me together for longer than I could myself until the point where my own self-destructive thoughts overwhelmed me.

The entire message that I sent to SANE is below:

I have just viewed the multitude of emails and messages sent from forum members and members of the SANE team – as well as the text and voice message left on my phone.

I have not been able to communicate with anyone since the other night as I have been recovering from what ended up being an unsuccessful attempt to end the pain.

At the time I was in a very distressed state and I did want to stop the pain and all I seemed to achieve is to cause others pain and worry and that is the last thing I wanted to do – I just wanted to end mine and say goodbye to everyone beforehand so my future absence was explained. I should have realised that the message I posted would have concerned some people but I really was not in any state to think about the repercussions for others.

I am so sorry I caused so much distress to others – that is something I will have to hopefully try and live with.

I don’t believe after the concern and anxiety I caused to so many that I will ever be able to return to the forum.

Can someone from the SANE team please explain all this to all those involved and pass on my gratitude for their compassion, concerns and kind words throughout the time I have been part of the ‘forum family’.

Thank you and sorry again for the difficult position I put everyone in.

Zoe7

I do not want any responses from any of you. I just wanted to let you know exactly what has happened and let you know how truly sorry I am for hurting people I have come to think of as friends and family, and who I really care about.

Your support, advice and compassion are what make you all the wonderful people you are.

@utopia and @Former-Member I am so sorry that the trust you placed in me has now been broken because of my actions. I also felt that we had a stronger connection, especially over the last week, and you both helped me in ways I cannot even describe or explain. I was not pulling away from you two - just wanted to pull away from myself. I couldn't cope with my own feelings and no-one or nothing was actually going to be able to stop me at the time. It's now just another failure to add to my list of failures. I really don't know what else to say to you both but to reiterate my heartfelt 'sorry'.

Re: Am Not Coping

@Zoe7. Just read last nights post. You were struggling a lot. But you made it through. Hospital can be a very scary proposition for a lot of people. And I understand some of your fears.
Hospital gave me a psychiatrist. I got sleeping meds - they eete a huge help - as I was so beyond sleep deprived - that my brain no longer worked. It was merely keeping my organs alive. But at the same time - my SI was intensely strong.
The nurses also at the hospital gave me the odd - calming down meds - when I was overraught. I think I just slept for the first few days.
The hospital was nice. The food ok. The staff fantastic. I got better there.
My depression, SI & lack of sleep meant I couldn't begin getting better at home with my psychologist. I needed that safe sleep.
I went in as a volunteer patient. It really saved my life.
I'm worried thst you may not always be able to keep yourself safe at home at the moment - without a change of meds.
Could you just think about it again. Think about the poditives. Because the staff will give you meds to stop the anxiety. And please don't not call your gp or psychologist. They are there to help. The alternative would be devastating.
Sending you my love and extra strength. ♥♥

@Faith-and-Hope I love the butterfly ... thankyou

@utopia I go back to my GP in a couple of hours. I have had some sleep but my headache has got worse and I am still just so exhausted. I still have so much anxiety around the thought of hospital. If the conversation today goes the same way as yesterday ... I actually don't know what I will do!!! I really wasn't feeling as bad when I went yesterday. My worries about Toby and the vet had been resolved, and although I was beyond tired, it was at least one problem solved for now. I know that my GP and psych are doing absolutely everything they can to get me the extra help needed and to keep me safe but they just don't realise how much more strain it is placing on me. It's a catch 22 - I am too anxious to sleep - they want me in hospital to help with reducing the anxiety and to help me sleep - the thought of hospital is increasing my anxiety - so it is harder to sleep

There seems to be nowhere I really feel safe at the moment and the thought of being in hospital absolutely terrifies me.

Re: Am Not Coping

@Zoe7, why does hospital terrify you? Might help to talk about that, face it?

Re: Am Not Coping

Thanks @Former-Member I really can't talk about it at the moment - trying to not bring all my fears to the forefront of mind - would not be a good place to be right now.

Re: Am Not Coping

@Zoe7 - I understand. I wonder if there would be a room next to the nurses station at hospital. If that might feel safer.
The more you think about it - the more anxious you will get.
I'm at work. Our boss has disappeared and we have run out of work - again. Happens often unfortunately.
I prefer it when we are flat out busy.
I might sweep and mop the floors when I get home - after the dogs brought in all that mud.
Took my son to gp yesterday. Ends up he has pots - postural tachycardia syndrome. Just means he feels dizzy/faint when he stands up. Common in teenagers - as their bodys aren't used to their growing size yet.

Re: Am Not Coping

@utopia I wouldn't feel safe anywhere. I don't really know how to explain my fears - there are a few!

I'll try to explain the main one the best I can.

As you already know I don't like to sleep because of the nightmares and fears surrounding that - especially when it is dark. I have a real fear that I will not wake up if I go to sleep - and a fear that I will also be woken - let's just say - violently! I need to know there is no-one around to even try to sleep. Being in hospital - with people around, and people that I certainly don't know - even the thought of it is too much to deal with. I hope that makes some sense to you and you understand a bit more why this is so terrifying for me. Some of the other issues I have around hospitals are connected here also so there is alot of trauma connected together and I just can't cope with that.

Re: Am Not Coping

Oh @Zoe7. That makes it so terribly hard. Surely there is a drug they could give you to stop dreams/nightmares & anxiety. That would at least help you sleep at home. And then your brain wouldn't be so exhausted.
It's a stupid crcle of needing help due to trauma - but trying not to be retrsumatised when you get help.
I'm guessing it's the medication that will help you the most.
Being you need a female psychiatrist - would there be one's on the mainland - willing to Skype sessions with you. Maybe check with your gp if this may be possible.

Re: Am Not Coping

Yes @utopia is is so terriby hard - now I think you get why I am so terrified of hospital and the impact the idea is having on me at the moment - it really is sending me right to the edge!

I know my GP has a couple of friends in Sydney that she can call if it gets to that point. She is trying to avoid this as she really wants someone here that can actually see me personally.

@Shaz51 So glad to hear from you my friend - hope you are doing ok

@Owlunar What a day you have had Will catch up with you later. Have to go to GP soon!
