Am Not Coping

Am Not Coping

I am really not coping at the moment but this is entirely on ME!

This is a message for a few people on here @utopia @Former-Member @Faith-and-Hope @Former-Member

that I asked could be passed on but it seems that only part of it has been and I understand from the responses that have made it through my emails that I have caused untold distress for some people. I was not going to return because of what I felt I put people through but I especially wanted @utopia and @Former-Member to know that they were not wrong at the time and I was going through a real crisis period. You both held me together for longer than I could myself until the point where my own self-destructive thoughts overwhelmed me.

The entire message that I sent to SANE is below:

I have just viewed the multitude of emails and messages sent from forum members and members of the SANE team – as well as the text and voice message left on my phone.

I have not been able to communicate with anyone since the other night as I have been recovering from what ended up being an unsuccessful attempt to end the pain.

At the time I was in a very distressed state and I did want to stop the pain and all I seemed to achieve is to cause others pain and worry and that is the last thing I wanted to do – I just wanted to end mine and say goodbye to everyone beforehand so my future absence was explained. I should have realised that the message I posted would have concerned some people but I really was not in any state to think about the repercussions for others.

I am so sorry I caused so much distress to others – that is something I will have to hopefully try and live with.

I don’t believe after the concern and anxiety I caused to so many that I will ever be able to return to the forum.

Can someone from the SANE team please explain all this to all those involved and pass on my gratitude for their compassion, concerns and kind words throughout the time I have been part of the ‘forum family’.

Thank you and sorry again for the difficult position I put everyone in.

Zoe7

I do not want any responses from any of you. I just wanted to let you know exactly what has happened and let you know how truly sorry I am for hurting people I have come to think of as friends and family, and who I really care about.

Your support, advice and compassion are what make you all the wonderful people you are.

@utopia and @Former-Member I am so sorry that the trust you placed in me has now been broken because of my actions. I also felt that we had a stronger connection, especially over the last week, and you both helped me in ways I cannot even describe or explain. I was not pulling away from you two - just wanted to pull away from myself. I couldn't cope with my own feelings and no-one or nothing was actually going to be able to stop me at the time. It's now just another failure to add to my list of failures. I really don't know what else to say to you both but to reiterate my heartfelt 'sorry'.

Re: Am Not Coping

@Zoe7 I am glad I could make you smile.

@Former-Member No pooping on any of the teddy bears! I am well aware that no birds have a sphincter!

I need to disappear now as I've thus far spent all day on the forums. I have to go and do some of that self care stuff that we are all now experts on after Topic Tuesday.

Lol @Phoenix-rising. I've never seen so many teddy bears before. I think @Zoe7 - it may be time for another extension to the Octagonal Room - so that they can all fit.
I can imagine times when I just might snuggle underneath all those teddys for comfort and fall asleep. I hope I don't disturb you or @Former-Member with my snooring.
Sending you hugs ♥♥♥

Cat sounds very spoilt getting that warmth always 🙂 and that view also sounds beautiful @Zoe7, I hope one day I'l have a view of something nice rather than a brick wall and the roof of next door, but that's what you get with the renting and studying lifestyle in the city. And it's not all that bad because I can walk to about 20 coffee shops and pubs for a nice view hehe.

I was thinking that maybe a trip to Europe could be fun, we could start in France?! I am thinking that we need all the croissants and baguettes

And completely understand about talking, that's really fine

Oh and I have been good thank you my best friend JUST told me she is getting married soon and asked me to be her maid of honour, so I am feeling very lucky to have been asked that, even though we both don't know what that involves because she is having a really small and low key wedding, more like a dinner, so I guess I just get the excuse to help out as much as I can which sounds fun! xxx

Re: Am Not Coping

@Former-Member Both Toby and Cat are very spoilt- they are my babies lol

I did like your description of your living arrangements - particularly the coffee shop and pub views lol If you get sick of the view at home there is not far to go to have a 'look around' and see what else is out there - cheeky!!!

What are you currently studying - pretty sure I haven't asked you that before!

I have been to Europe - only spent 3 months travelling around but would happily go back. Probably not a good idea to start in France presently (I wasn't such a fan when I was there anyway - but that was nearly 20 years ago). I did spend a lot of time in England and Ireland - and if you like pubs they are definitely 2 places to start with lol

Lovely news about your best friend - and the honour for you of being asked to be her maid on honour I suspect that she just wants you by her side throughout the whole 'process' to both help out and to also share in her joy - such a wonderful thing for you both to share

I may access helpline chat today - I will see how the morning goes. I do need to talk a couple of things out but still reluctant to put them on here and ask for that support atm - see how I am travelling a little later

Hope there is light in your day and you have plenty of reasons to smile...

hopefully this will get you started...

Re: Am Not Coping

Good morning @Zoe7. I hope you got some restful sleep last night.
Had my appointment with my psychologist. We are going to focus on a set wake up time and going to bed at a set time. As he said, once my sleep patterns improve, then I'll have energy and motivation to start doing the things that make me well and feel better. I agree. But don't think it will be that easy. I'll see him in 2 weeks, unless I'm struggling with the sleep routine. If so I have to go back to see him in a week & then he'd like me on sleeping tablets. I really don't want to go back on sleeping tablets - even for a week. So that should motivate me to try and fix this myself first.
I hope the helpline helps. Don't forget you alsohave the SANE ccounselors and your gp and us - your forum family.
You don't need to say anything to us, but just so you know we are here for you - always.
I'm off to my 6 monthly appointment with the health nurse. Talk to you soon.
Sending my love to you and Toby and Cat. ♥♥♥

Re: Am Not Coping

Morning my beautiful cocky friend @utopia

I did finally get sleep last night - nearly 9 hours - yea! I am still a little tired today but that is to be expected considerably the lack of sleep and the rollercoaster I have been on for a few days now. Today is a case of putting one foot in front of the other and seeing where it leads me (probably not too far before I collapse but trying to stay a bit more positive). I still have the dreaded headache and am being realistic that doing too much not only makes that worse but also exhausts me - which in turn affects the level of my mood. It is really difficult explaining this to people - I don't have any energy and need to be able to get moving to gain some energy - but just doing that makes me too tired to think straight and I begin the spiral down again - it really is a catch 22 situation and a long, slow process - I really don't think the people around me (in the non-virtual world) understand it at all!!

The 'issues' I need to deal with are probably best done in my own head and away from the forum - still struggling with that 'white noise' complicating my thoughts and emotions Staying away seems to be the only solution my friend @utopia - another catch 22 situation - damed if I do, damned if I don't!!! - too hard!!!!

I completely get the problem with the sleep patterns - *no shite @utopia says in her head in response to this really obvious statement lol* I was getting up at the same time - fur babies needing to be fed. It is the 'getting to sleep' part that is harder said than done. I usually know quite early on if the meds are not working well enough to override my thought processes and fears and that sleep will be problemmatic or impossible. It ceratinly has got a lot better but still a long way to go. Do whatever you need to do to have this working for you - we both know what a massive difference tiredness and exhaustion can have on how we are feeling.

I hope your appointment with the health nurse goes ok. Talk to you soon my wonderful friend.

Zoe
