Am Not Coping

Am Not Coping

I am really not coping at the moment but this is entirely on ME!

This is a message for a few people on here @utopia @Former-Member @Faith-and-Hope @Former-Member

that I asked could be passed on but it seems that only part of it has been and I understand from the responses that have made it through my emails that I have caused untold distress for some people. I was not going to return because of what I felt I put people through but I especially wanted @utopia and @Former-Member to know that they were not wrong at the time and I was going through a real crisis period. You both held me together for longer than I could myself until the point where my own self-destructive thoughts overwhelmed me.

The entire message that I sent to SANE is below:

I have just viewed the multitude of emails and messages sent from forum members and members of the SANE team – as well as the text and voice message left on my phone.

I have not been able to communicate with anyone since the other night as I have been recovering from what ended up being an unsuccessful attempt to end the pain.

At the time I was in a very distressed state and I did want to stop the pain and all I seemed to achieve is to cause others pain and worry and that is the last thing I wanted to do – I just wanted to end mine and say goodbye to everyone beforehand so my future absence was explained. I should have realised that the message I posted would have concerned some people but I really was not in any state to think about the repercussions for others.

I am so sorry I caused so much distress to others – that is something I will have to hopefully try and live with.

I don’t believe after the concern and anxiety I caused to so many that I will ever be able to return to the forum.

Can someone from the SANE team please explain all this to all those involved and pass on my gratitude for their compassion, concerns and kind words throughout the time I have been part of the ‘forum family’.

Thank you and sorry again for the difficult position I put everyone in.

Zoe7

I do not want any responses from any of you. I just wanted to let you know exactly what has happened and let you know how truly sorry I am for hurting people I have come to think of as friends and family, and who I really care about.

Your support, advice and compassion are what make you all the wonderful people you are.

@utopia and @Former-Member I am so sorry that the trust you placed in me has now been broken because of my actions. I also felt that we had a stronger connection, especially over the last week, and you both helped me in ways I cannot even describe or explain. I was not pulling away from you two - just wanted to pull away from myself. I couldn't cope with my own feelings and no-one or nothing was actually going to be able to stop me at the time. It's now just another failure to add to my list of failures. I really don't know what else to say to you both but to reiterate my heartfelt 'sorry'.

Yes @Zoe7 @Shaz51 ..... there is a lot that is starting to align .....

Its still going to be a big year. Every year will be a big year until my mr. is diagnosed I think, and then there will be more big years after that .....

Our home in the west will likely be sold before too much longer, and there are a lot of big feelings sitting in the background regarding that, apart from what else may or may not happen.

Knowing that you have to let go of that important part of your life soon is pretty big Hon. I can imagine there are a lot of feelings that will bring up for you. Despite all that you have been confronted with - and all that has been 'taken away' from you - you still retain that eagerness for life and a positivity in moving forward regardess of the obstacles placed in your way.

It is going to be a big year for you all but there is so much positive in it so far. I certainly hope this therapist you are going to see will be able to help you navigate some of what you will no doubt be confronted with. You can only do what you are doing until there is a diagnosis - and then there is the added concern that Mr. will not recognise what he is being told and takes it out on his family. That is my fear and I suspect it is in the back of your mind too having to live with this every day. ...but I also know you have some resources in place to deal with that although being in the east and on your own would make that more difficult. That is why this therapist (or at least a therapist) is so important to have in place - to give you that support you need. ...and of course you have us here but we can only be your sounding boards as much as many of us wish we were right there for you.

@Zoe7 I hope you’re sleeping peacefully now & that your headache is gone in time for your morning duties. You probably don’t want to but you could utilise sick leave if things aren’t sustainable to cobtinue functioning at work on some days. I’m upset to read that you and @Snowie and no doubt others here have to deal with triggers/nightmares but I suppose you’ve found ways to manage it because you seem resilient. @Snowie I really hope that things improve for you soon after what sounds like a tough period. Acceptance of unpleasant moments seems to be the key from the mindfulness perspective & I know things get worse for me when I try to battle that things should be differ to how they are.

@Faith-and-Hope I’m glad you found a carer & that the cafe detour went well. It’s great that you & your family are occupied with meaningful study. I’m not sure I understand the references to your husband’s potential diagnosis but I hope the impact on you all is less than you anticipate.

Youve clearly got heaps going on @Shaz51 so I hope you can carve out some space & time for yourself.

Re: Am Not Coping

Those sayings about the wheel turning are starting to feel real to me.

You must have seen all the stuff in the news.

It has taken so long.

I would never in my wildest imagination want or expect what has happened to occur.

Is it justice?

It is sad, but at last it is not ME that is sad.

Re: Am Not Coping

Are you ok then @Appleblossom ?

“All that stuff in the news” has taken far too long in attempting justice. The main thing for you is that as you say it’s not you who is sad. Take good care of yourself @Appleblossom & anyone else impacted by that news item

Yes I am alright. Thanks @Sam3

I journalled and took notes.

I had a good chair and good view of all proceedings.

I am exhausted and will need tomorrow to get back to normal.

Just ate bullets and had a coke.
