Am Not Coping

Am Not Coping

I am really not coping at the moment but this is entirely on ME!

This is a message for a few people on here @utopia @Former-Member @Faith-and-Hope @Former-Member

that I asked could be passed on but it seems that only part of it has been and I understand from the responses that have made it through my emails that I have caused untold distress for some people. I was not going to return because of what I felt I put people through but I especially wanted @utopia and @Former-Member to know that they were not wrong at the time and I was going through a real crisis period. You both held me together for longer than I could myself until the point where my own self-destructive thoughts overwhelmed me.

The entire message that I sent to SANE is below:

I have just viewed the multitude of emails and messages sent from forum members and members of the SANE team – as well as the text and voice message left on my phone.

I have not been able to communicate with anyone since the other night as I have been recovering from what ended up being an unsuccessful attempt to end the pain.

At the time I was in a very distressed state and I did want to stop the pain and all I seemed to achieve is to cause others pain and worry and that is the last thing I wanted to do – I just wanted to end mine and say goodbye to everyone beforehand so my future absence was explained. I should have realised that the message I posted would have concerned some people but I really was not in any state to think about the repercussions for others.

I am so sorry I caused so much distress to others – that is something I will have to hopefully try and live with.

I don’t believe after the concern and anxiety I caused to so many that I will ever be able to return to the forum.

Can someone from the SANE team please explain all this to all those involved and pass on my gratitude for their compassion, concerns and kind words throughout the time I have been part of the ‘forum family’.

Thank you and sorry again for the difficult position I put everyone in.

I do not want any responses from any of you. I just wanted to let you know exactly what has happened and let you know how truly sorry I am for hurting people I have come to think of as friends and family, and who I really care about.

Your support, advice and compassion are what make you all the wonderful people you are.

@utopia and @Former-Member I am so sorry that the trust you placed in me has now been broken because of my actions. I also felt that we had a stronger connection, especially over the last week, and you both helped me in ways I cannot even describe or explain. I was not pulling away from you two - just wanted to pull away from myself. I couldn't cope with my own feelings and no-one or nothing was actually going to be able to stop me at the time. It's now just another failure to add to my list of failures. I really don't know what else to say to you both but to reiterate my heartfelt 'sorry'.

Hi @Sam3 . How was your first week on the new job? You have been quiet lately. Although I have been too, so may have missed any updates from you. Did you end up going with the increased dosage of meds as recommended by your psychiatrist? And if so, are you handling the change okay? Must be difficult dealing with that at the same time as starting a new job.

Re: Am Not Coping

Yes @Sam3 How are you?

I am feeling better than I have for this week I had a lovely trip into town by Vline which is smooth and much more pleasant than the rackety metro trains. Choir was great. We are doing a major passion that I have done a few times, so at least now it is a bit familiar. I also felt good socially. Good to have something to get my teeth in. I am chewing thru a lot of music.

It is sometimes great to stand on the side and watch others, quietly basking in good vibes.

@Snowie you have been missed, and we love having you back

@Zoe7 you are giving us hope. The ups and downs, the shades and colours.

Re: Am Not Coping

Thanks @Sam3 @Appleblossom It is a good feeling to be back at work and to be doing so well there. The staff and students are certainly making it a lot easier for me to fit in and to do the job

Not feeling well this morning but need to get myself moving and ready for work. Hoping the day goes quickly and I get through it okay. I am with the same class for most of the day so that will make it easier.

Hope you have a good day at work yourself @Sam3 I know you are finding parts of the new job challenging but hoping that eases a bit for you as you get more used to the workplace.

@Zoe7

At least it is easier to prod ourselves along if the overall environment is a good one. Not all groups, jobs, schools are the same ....

I had a great day at the zoo today.

Cheers ALL

@Faith-and-Hope @Appleblossom @Former-Member @Sam3 @Snowie @Former-Member @Sans911 @Shaz51 @MDT @TAB @BlueBay @Teej @CheerBear @eth and all following along...

A really hard day today as I still had a headache which started yesterday. By this afternoon I was feeling quite nauseous as well but I got through. The day did seem to go pretty quickly as I was super busy all day - that is the kind of day I like - being busy and feeling useful. I am glad to be home though today so I can lay down soon and relax. I didn't drink enough water today so that would have contributed to me not feeling so good still.

Tomorrow is a longer day at work with planning after school in grade groups. I feel a bit like a 3rd wheel in those sessions though as I am not really attached to any grade but spend a lot of time with the 4/5s so will probably join that team.

I have made a GP appointment for Wednesday so can get that back on track - it has been a few weeks now since I have seen her and need a new script for one of my night meds. I ran out a couple of days ago - that may be contributing to my headache - hadn't really thought about that until now

Despite me not feeling well there were some wins with the kids. One of the boys that doesn't do much work I sat with and he wrote quite a bit - that was a huge win. He is a lovely kid but can be quite destructve in the classroom when he gets angry - luckily we haven't seen that side of him so far this year. As you can probably tell I have a soft spot for him already - he makes me laugh - he is quite humourous and he is a great drawer - so he has a lot going for him. Will see how he reacts next week when I work with him for maths though as he doesn't like maths - I think because he finds it hard so some one on one work will hopefully give him a little more confidence.

Hope everyone has had an okay day in whatever you have all been doing. It is lovely to be able to come here and update you all on my day and I really appreciate all the supports and posts - thank you to everyone for the ongoing support

Pity about the headache, but maybe it is the med running out ...

Today I witnessed an experiment being set up. Fascinating.

This always works. I hated maths at school but when teachers actually sat down and helped it made 1000% of difference.

Go you good thing @Zoe7

Re: Am Not Coping

I love Science and setting up experiments @Appleblossom and the kids generally love the more hands on work in that subject. We do some maths and then science in the class I am with on Mondays so it is an enjoyable day (when I am well).

@MDT I do like this particular boy but he struggles with maths so I will spend some time with him next week to help him through it - hopefully that one on one will really help him. It is hard sometimes when a new concept is introduced to get around everyone that isn't quite getting it but with 2 of us there we can get to more people than usual so that is a good thing.

You are a good teacher @Zoe7
Taking the time to think about the kids education. Good on you 🙂
