Am Not Coping

Am Not Coping

I am really not coping at the moment but this is entirely on ME!

This is a message for a few people on here @utopia @Former-Member @Faith-and-Hope @Former-Member

that I asked could be passed on but it seems that only part of it has been and I understand from the responses that have made it through my emails that I have caused untold distress for some people. I was not going to return because of what I felt I put people through but I especially wanted @utopia and @Former-Member to know that they were not wrong at the time and I was going through a real crisis period. You both held me together for longer than I could myself until the point where my own self-destructive thoughts overwhelmed me.

The entire message that I sent to SANE is below:

I have just viewed the multitude of emails and messages sent from forum members and members of the SANE team – as well as the text and voice message left on my phone.

I have not been able to communicate with anyone since the other night as I have been recovering from what ended up being an unsuccessful attempt to end the pain.

At the time I was in a very distressed state and I did want to stop the pain and all I seemed to achieve is to cause others pain and worry and that is the last thing I wanted to do – I just wanted to end mine and say goodbye to everyone beforehand so my future absence was explained. I should have realised that the message I posted would have concerned some people but I really was not in any state to think about the repercussions for others.

I am so sorry I caused so much distress to others – that is something I will have to hopefully try and live with.

I don’t believe after the concern and anxiety I caused to so many that I will ever be able to return to the forum.

Can someone from the SANE team please explain all this to all those involved and pass on my gratitude for their compassion, concerns and kind words throughout the time I have been part of the ‘forum family’.

Thank you and sorry again for the difficult position I put everyone in.

Zoe7

I do not want any responses from any of you. I just wanted to let you know exactly what has happened and let you know how truly sorry I am for hurting people I have come to think of as friends and family, and who I really care about.

Your support, advice and compassion are what make you all the wonderful people you are.

@utopia and @Former-Member I am so sorry that the trust you placed in me has now been broken because of my actions. I also felt that we had a stronger connection, especially over the last week, and you both helped me in ways I cannot even describe or explain. I was not pulling away from you two - just wanted to pull away from myself. I couldn't cope with my own feelings and no-one or nothing was actually going to be able to stop me at the time. It's now just another failure to add to my list of failures. I really don't know what else to say to you both but to reiterate my heartfelt 'sorry'.

Thanks @Former-Member @Snowie I am really beginning to enjoy the work again and getting to know the kids is part of that. There are some real characters in the 4/5 class I was in today but together they all mix well - it was lovely to observe today

@Faith-and-Hope I had someone comment on my necklace today and I had to say it was a very personal combination that reminded me of someone very special to me.

How has your day been?

Re: Am Not Coping

My day has been good @Zoe7. I had a digital photography class this morning, and I am feeling progressively more confident about exploring computer technology ..... in baby steps ..... but I am feeling really chuffed about a few things I managed to work out today.

This afternoon was a drawing class with charcoal. So good to be in that place again ❣️

S2 got himself up and to uni today .... I came out early myself this morning to find him eating breakfast and preparing to leave 👍 ..... double kudos cos he had an early start 👍 and it sounds like he either went to a second class, or had a music lesson. In any case he attended more than just the first class 👍 🎉😁

D3 is in her drawing class now. She got herself to uni independently of me (has a later start on Mondays) 👍 .... and has stayed all day = no missed classes today 👍🎉😁

So good ❣️ Such a relief. Hoping that day by day they can stay on course this year.

Great to hear so much good news from your day too.

Oh that sounds like a wonderful day for both you and your baby dragons @Faith-and-Hope It is so great to hear S2 and Visual both got themselves up and to uni independently of you - that must be such a huge relief for you

I am equally as happy that you are becoming more confident with technology - I never doubted you would be able to get it - sometimes it just takes that little bit longer but once things start to click it is a good feeling.

Super excited to hear where this year will take all of you - it is certainly a good start with the kids getting themselves organised. Hopefully once they really start getting into their repective courses they will begin to make friends also - that would be so lovely for both of them

I really have had a good day - the staff continue to be really supportive and getting to know the kids a bit more I can certainly see the 'cheeky Zoe' coming out in interactions with them. I am starting to feel so much more like 'myself' again and that is a really nice feeling. I know so much of my identity has been tied up in my role as a teacher over the years but being able to come out of my shell a bit more has been easy at this school ...and it feels like it is naturally happening the more I am there

@Faith-and-Hope

It is great things are moving forward for you both.

Today I drove my son to our relationships counsellor. It was hard to get him out of bed and we were late, but he admitted responsibility for it, but then makes global comments about me not being responsible for ALL the things that happened. It was very difficult but we are both persisting.

Yesterday afternoon at choir was good and I have the zoo tomorrow.

Re: Am Not Coping

That’s so good @Zoe7. It was very distressing to hear the way you were being treated at your old school at the end of last year, when it was such a monumental achievement to be returning to work ..... and “cheeky Zoe” should have been out and proud and celebrating ..... but sometimes the things we have to fight hard for become even more precious to us for the trials we have survived in the process ..... and the success becomes so bittersweet.

To see my baby dragons sizing up to their mi issues and succeeding, even though it’s still early days and there will be dancing-in-the-rain moments ahead of them yet, they hav both gotten off the starter’s block ..... and that was so important .... and it wasn’t without disruption ..... but they have achieved it anyway ❣️

Re: Am Not Coping

I very much missed you at the end of last year when I was going through all that @Faith-and-Hope My pdoc commented in our last session how hard it was for her to hear how I was being treated also but didn't want to comment as I was handling it in her words 'amazingly well'. I have also talked a little to my psych about it and about missing you when you were away. Every session she asked if you were back yet lol but it was also lovely that I could say I had support here from other people while you were away. That was super important for me while I was dealing with everything at that last school. It certainly makes me more grateful that I have landed at this school - even if it is only for the 2 terms I have been intially told I will be there - hopefully that can be extended for the remainder of the year but that I won't know about until later in term 2.

I really am excited for you in regards to your baby dragons. Everything crossed that they begin to find their feet now they are attending classes. I know it is still baby steps with them but it is so encouraging that they are getting up and getting on with it on their own. I have no doubt that you have been such a wonderful role model for them in that regard and that you leding the way with your studeies have and will further encourage them that it can be done despite the obstacles they both face. Feel like a super proud Aunty at the moment

Hey @Appleblossom It sounds like your appointment went okay in parts but it is not ideal that your son made those negative comments. You are doing the best you can and it is not an easy situation for you. You want to love your son unconditionally but he is making that hard with some of his actions and words. Stay strong Hon - he is going to the counsellor so that is something in his favour. Enjoy the zoo tomorrow and I am glad that choir yeaterday was good
