Am Not Coping

Am Not Coping

I am really not coping at the moment but this is entirely on ME!

This is a message for a few people on here @utopia @Former-Member @Faith-and-Hope @Former-Member

that I asked could be passed on but it seems that only part of it has been and I understand from the responses that have made it through my emails that I have caused untold distress for some people. I was not going to return because of what I felt I put people through but I especially wanted @utopia and @Former-Member to know that they were not wrong at the time and I was going through a real crisis period. You both held me together for longer than I could myself until the point where my own self-destructive thoughts overwhelmed me.

The entire message that I sent to SANE is below:

I have just viewed the multitude of emails and messages sent from forum members and members of the SANE team – as well as the text and voice message left on my phone.

I have not been able to communicate with anyone since the other night as I have been recovering from what ended up being an unsuccessful attempt to end the pain.

At the time I was in a very distressed state and I did want to stop the pain and all I seemed to achieve is to cause others pain and worry and that is the last thing I wanted to do – I just wanted to end mine and say goodbye to everyone beforehand so my future absence was explained. I should have realised that the message I posted would have concerned some people but I really was not in any state to think about the repercussions for others.

I am so sorry I caused so much distress to others – that is something I will have to hopefully try and live with.

I don’t believe after the concern and anxiety I caused to so many that I will ever be able to return to the forum.

Can someone from the SANE team please explain all this to all those involved and pass on my gratitude for their compassion, concerns and kind words throughout the time I have been part of the ‘forum family’.

Thank you and sorry again for the difficult position I put everyone in.

Zoe7

I do not want any responses from any of you. I just wanted to let you know exactly what has happened and let you know how truly sorry I am for hurting people I have come to think of as friends and family, and who I really care about.

Your support, advice and compassion are what make you all the wonderful people you are.

@utopia and @Former-Member I am so sorry that the trust you placed in me has now been broken because of my actions. I also felt that we had a stronger connection, especially over the last week, and you both helped me in ways I cannot even describe or explain. I was not pulling away from you two - just wanted to pull away from myself. I couldn't cope with my own feelings and no-one or nothing was actually going to be able to stop me at the time. It's now just another failure to add to my list of failures. I really don't know what else to say to you both but to reiterate my heartfelt 'sorry'.

Hey all @Sam3 @Zoe7 @Former-Member @Shaz51

Spent the morning at the gym. Caught up with my friend for brekky as usual (had baked beans @Bunniekins lol ) then home visa coffee shop and got my takeaway. Spent last hour or so reading the paper.

@Sam3 job search is okay. I'm learning patience that's for sure. I expect the visa will be ready mid week.

Rest of today just chilling out

Re: Am Not Coping

Thanks @Zoe7 fingers crossed housing will come through soonish. The manager has used a few bullying tactics, but I do have a good counsellor, she will step,in if need be. I'm just keeping things as calm as I can. The problem is that they have empty flats, they change very high rental, 80 % of our pension, so filling them is a problem. Back to basics and doing as little as I can, and hiding as much as possible.

Thanks for the support and understanding, means a lot.

I haven't read much of what's happening for you. I hope it's okish in the days of school planning. Lots of these for you.💕💜💜💕🐾🐾🐾

Hi @Sam3 @Former-Member @Shaz51 @MDT

Re: Am Not Coping

80% of your pension is outrageous @Maggie no wonder you want to move - that doesn't leave much to do anything on your own. I do hope it is sorted out for you and you can get on with your life by yourself with Mags very quickly. So glad you have a great support worker to help you out - she is certainly great to have in your corner.

Many hugs and much love Maggie

Yes @Maggie i agree with the comments of @Zoe7 . Sounds like a good idea to lay low atm. Did you state you have a place to move into already organised? Take care

Re: Am Not Coping

Hey @Zoe7 I seem to have missed the detail re your work - is the new school to your liking? Is it 4 days per week? Hello @MDT @Former-Member @Shaz51 @Maggie hope you’re all ok. Having seen an old acquaintance yesterday, I’ve been struggling with negative thoughts about myself (based on comparisons of better/more organised mothers). I am completely sick of my useless ruminative brain & the way it robs me of joy & productive activity. I want to be different but mindfulness strategies seem to have minimal impact. People without mental health issues seem to achieve more & offer their kids better lives. Even when I’m well my brain goes round in useless circles. Is the solution just acceptance? I’ve tried it but I still don’t get much relief or increase in productivity.

Re: Am Not Coping

Acceptance is one strategy @Sam3 But comparing yourself to others is problemmatic also. You can ony live up to your own expectations of yourself and that needs to be enough. We often feel like others are doing better than us or have more than us but when we start to accept that what we have is enough then we can start to recognise that it is enough. You have so much to be grateful for Hon and living in the moment with your beautiful family around you, a home, a new job upcoming and financial security are all massive things in your life. Living for the present is a hard thing to do but with lots of practice it can be achieved - even with a MI. Not everyday will be okay but those days do pass also - they are ones we just need to get through though. Overthinking and ruminating on things for too long can certainly send us into that downward spiral - the trick is to let those thoughts happen but do not dwell on them for longer than you need to - that takes practice too though. Maybe writing down those thoughts would help as you are getting them out and often seeing them in front of us helps to move on from them. I find having those thoughts written gives me a little distance from them - it is not the same for everyone but something to consider and see if it helps.

You certainly have a lot going on and depression makes that harder but you are still raising a family and starting a new job soon and they are great achievements. Be a bit easier on yourself @Sam3 we are always harder on ourselves than others are and sometimes we just need to take a moment to accept that we are doing the best we can and that needs to be enough.
