Am Not Coping

Am Not Coping

I am really not coping at the moment but this is entirely on ME!

This is a message for a few people on here @utopia @Former-Member @Faith-and-Hope @Former-Member

that I asked could be passed on but it seems that only part of it has been and I understand from the responses that have made it through my emails that I have caused untold distress for some people. I was not going to return because of what I felt I put people through but I especially wanted @utopia and @Former-Member to know that they were not wrong at the time and I was going through a real crisis period. You both held me together for longer than I could myself until the point where my own self-destructive thoughts overwhelmed me.

The entire message that I sent to SANE is below:

I have just viewed the multitude of emails and messages sent from forum members and members of the SANE team – as well as the text and voice message left on my phone.

I have not been able to communicate with anyone since the other night as I have been recovering from what ended up being an unsuccessful attempt to end the pain.

At the time I was in a very distressed state and I did want to stop the pain and all I seemed to achieve is to cause others pain and worry and that is the last thing I wanted to do – I just wanted to end mine and say goodbye to everyone beforehand so my future absence was explained. I should have realised that the message I posted would have concerned some people but I really was not in any state to think about the repercussions for others.

I am so sorry I caused so much distress to others – that is something I will have to hopefully try and live with.

I don’t believe after the concern and anxiety I caused to so many that I will ever be able to return to the forum.

Can someone from the SANE team please explain all this to all those involved and pass on my gratitude for their compassion, concerns and kind words throughout the time I have been part of the ‘forum family’.

Thank you and sorry again for the difficult position I put everyone in.

Zoe7

I do not want any responses from any of you. I just wanted to let you know exactly what has happened and let you know how truly sorry I am for hurting people I have come to think of as friends and family, and who I really care about.

Your support, advice and compassion are what make you all the wonderful people you are.

@utopia and @Former-Member I am so sorry that the trust you placed in me has now been broken because of my actions. I also felt that we had a stronger connection, especially over the last week, and you both helped me in ways I cannot even describe or explain. I was not pulling away from you two - just wanted to pull away from myself. I couldn't cope with my own feelings and no-one or nothing was actually going to be able to stop me at the time. It's now just another failure to add to my list of failures. I really don't know what else to say to you both but to reiterate my heartfelt 'sorry'.

Re: Am Not Coping

Hi @Former-Member I wasn’t sure if you were on this thread so I didn’t add your name earlier but you have been on my mind. I hope things have eased up for you after such a traumatic week. How are you getting on now?

@Zoe7 @MDT @Former-Member I’ve been busy trying to get myself a job and have finally secured one YAY!!!! I actually got two job offers yesterday. The one that is very close to home seems like the worse option in terms of over-worked staff & aspects of the role I’d find stressful. The one I’ve decided on is a straightforward role a 30 minute pleasant drive away in a luxurious looking facility where the residents & staff appeared to be content and .....wait for it.... offers a pay rise compared to the other ones!!!! Owner of the company sounded really genuine (&successful) as compared to previous boss who is appallingly self-serving & money grabbing. I’ll have a 2 week break before starting on 18 February (hope I do ok with no strict for 2 weeks). The other cause for celebration after seeing the psychiatrist yesterday is that I am permanently off one of my meds which had yukky sideffects. We have an interstate guest staying tonight & the house is not in a good way so will head off now to clean & bake - one thing at a time I must remember. Thanks @Former-Member for asking after me. Best wishes to all for a positive day.

Re: Am Not Coping

Hi @Sam3 . Yes I am often on this thread too, although stick to my own when I am speaking in more specific terms around my own issues. I tend to be more general on this one as a rule. Yeah its been a bad week for me, with things bringing back some traumatic memories and subsequently renewed ptsd symptoms. My psych spoke to me yesterday and says its important she sees me this week coming. She reorganised her schedule and will see me in Wednesday. It was good of her.

Oh now that sounds really good Sam, about your new employment. The half hour drive sounds like a pleasant enough thing, and long enough to give the car a decent run too. Its not good for cars to have all short runs you know. Half hour runs charges up the batteries and gets oil running through ... all sorts of positives. 😊 And more importantly .... your new boss sounds a much better alternative than the self serving former one. The increased pay is a bonus not to be sneezed at too. Plus I really like the fact that you will get a 2 week break before commencing your new employment. Well done!

I am happy to celebrate with you also with the reduction of psych meds. Is there any weaning off involved, or is it cold turkey for that one? I hope the transition is easy and that I'm pleased that some undesired side effects will soon be history.

I hope you enjoy your interstate guests tonight. Yep, remember that you are only one person ... one thing at a time. Do up a to-do list if need be. There is pleasure to be gained from ticking things off as each is accomplished. Or I think so.

So thats two celebrations from this thread for the week now. @Zoe7 's new school placement and @Sam3 's new job. Sounds like we need to throw a celebratory party? Now ... who's in charge of that around here?

Re: Am Not Coping

@Former-Member we also have to celebrate @Faith-and-Hope coming home in a couple of days so a triple celebration.

WTG on your new job @Sam3 That is such wonderful news - I am so pleased for you. You also sound like this new job you chose is a good fit for you. It certainly helps if you are working somewhere nice and with a nice boss - makes so much difference to the wanting to be at work ...and the pay rise will be nice too. So very happy for you Hon - congratulations - you deserve some good in your life

@Maggie That competely sucks about your present place but you are right they can't get blood out of a stone. Surely they could get someone to take your place quickly so they won't be missing out on the rent - that to me is just nastiness and preying on the vulnerable. I do hope you get alternative housing soon and get get out of what seems to be a somewhat toxic environment for you. I know you feel very self-conscious about going for lunch with all eyes seemingly on you after days you don't want to be social. That is no way to live either Hon and you will be so much better in your own place where you do not have all those expectations from others affecting you. It is good to hear little Mags is okay as well - gotta love our fur babies for bringing us back to the present moment and loving us unconditionally

Re: Am Not Coping

It is great that we can celebrate some of the good times @Former-Member - there are so often not many of those here.

Re: Am Not Coping

All too true @Zoe7 , unfortunately. Hence my suggestion not to let an opportunity pass by.

So far we have cause for celebration for @Zoe7 (new job placement) @Sam3 (new employment) @Faith-and-Hope (welcome home) Does anybody else have any? It can be a multiple celebration.

Re: Am Not Coping

Oh, I should have mentioned .... it doesnt have to be a major thing either. We should learn to celebrate even the smaller victories in our lives. No cause is too small, no cause is unworthy of celebrating. @Zoe7 @Sam3 @Faith-and-Hope

Re: Am Not Coping

I am going to start a new thread for F&H tomorrow @Former-Member but would you like to start one today for Sam3 as it was your idea and that would be super sweet coming from you.

Re: Am Not Coping

There is a celebration thread already here @Former-Member We could put it on there and tag people from there.

Re: Am Not Coping

Good on you @Zoe7 re the welcome back thread for F&H. Ummm ... not sure about starting a new thread for you and Sam though? I am getting heart palpitations just thinking about doing it. 😨 I realise you are going to have limited time available now that you're back at work pretty much full time though. I wont promise anything ... but let me think about it .. okay? I dont even know where to start to be honest. ❓
