Am Not Coping

Am Not Coping

I am really not coping at the moment but this is entirely on ME!

This is a message for a few people on here @utopia @Former-Member @Faith-and-Hope @Former-Member

that I asked could be passed on but it seems that only part of it has been and I understand from the responses that have made it through my emails that I have caused untold distress for some people. I was not going to return because of what I felt I put people through but I especially wanted @utopia and @Former-Member to know that they were not wrong at the time and I was going through a real crisis period. You both held me together for longer than I could myself until the point where my own self-destructive thoughts overwhelmed me.

The entire message that I sent to SANE is below:

I have just viewed the multitude of emails and messages sent from forum members and members of the SANE team – as well as the text and voice message left on my phone.

I have not been able to communicate with anyone since the other night as I have been recovering from what ended up being an unsuccessful attempt to end the pain.

At the time I was in a very distressed state and I did want to stop the pain and all I seemed to achieve is to cause others pain and worry and that is the last thing I wanted to do – I just wanted to end mine and say goodbye to everyone beforehand so my future absence was explained. I should have realised that the message I posted would have concerned some people but I really was not in any state to think about the repercussions for others.

I am so sorry I caused so much distress to others – that is something I will have to hopefully try and live with.

I don’t believe after the concern and anxiety I caused to so many that I will ever be able to return to the forum.

Can someone from the SANE team please explain all this to all those involved and pass on my gratitude for their compassion, concerns and kind words throughout the time I have been part of the ‘forum family’.

Thank you and sorry again for the difficult position I put everyone in.

Zoe7

I do not want any responses from any of you. I just wanted to let you know exactly what has happened and let you know how truly sorry I am for hurting people I have come to think of as friends and family, and who I really care about.

Your support, advice and compassion are what make you all the wonderful people you are.

@utopia and @Former-Member I am so sorry that the trust you placed in me has now been broken because of my actions. I also felt that we had a stronger connection, especially over the last week, and you both helped me in ways I cannot even describe or explain. I was not pulling away from you two - just wanted to pull away from myself. I couldn't cope with my own feelings and no-one or nothing was actually going to be able to stop me at the time. It's now just another failure to add to my list of failures. I really don't know what else to say to you both but to reiterate my heartfelt 'sorry'.

Re: Am Not Coping

I think you are just feeling that way about your career choice because there is not much around but if it is your passion then it will work out @MDT It is definitely tough not having money - stops us doing a lot of things that would benefit our mental health. I am lucky that my psych is bulk billing until I am back at work and getting paid properly again. My GP also bulk bills because I see her so often and when I not doing DBT my pdoc also bulk bills so I am very fortunate will all my treating team.

On a completely different note altogether - I have finished the frame for the garage wall so just have the sheeting to do. I am going to have a rest, watch some tennis and then get the sheets off the trailer and begin to measure then up. I also need to clean up the mess I have made in the garage so there is room to bring the sheets in. I love construction Also looking forward to having a shower later when I have finished today

Re: Am Not Coping

yeh bulk billing works well @Zoe7

My GP does that. You've reminded me that I see my psych in two days time and I'm yet to pay last session lol...

Re: Am Not Coping

I nearly missed my appointment today - completely forgot about it until I remembered getting a reminder on Friday - had to look up when it was and then get dressed and leave very quickly. I am glad I made it as it was a good session and just what I needed to get me motivated this afternoon.

I hope your psych doesn't hassle you to pay when you can't afford it @MDT. Do you have any work you can do to get a little more money?

Atm parents are helping @Zoe7
But I feel like an apple that hasn't fallen off the tree... Just leeching off... Not good for my own self confidence I must say..

Re: Am Not Coping

It is great that your parents are helping @MDT - and I get what you mean with the self-confidence but you aren't doing nothing - you are working out the best way to tackle the opportunities in the UK and they seem supportive of that. It does take away a bit of your independence though when you know you are reliant on your parents for help. I do hope you get this UK stuff underway quickly so you can embark on the new period of your life soon.

Re: Am Not Coping

Sorry to see the pc problems are persisting @MDT Can I just add that as a parent we’re often fine with assisting adult children (although my eldest is only a 19 yo full time student- is that really an adult?!).

@Zoe7 I’m sure you inspire us all with your dogged determination.

ok now I’m going to ask for some support. I’m really exhausted & confronting impending unemployment (or even new employment) isn’t appealing. I know I typed that I didn’t want to indulge in self-pity or fear but ... I don’t seem to have the requisite skill set for life, never mind a job. Should I tell my resilient upbeat buddy whose dad is dying from cancer? Or naybe one of my other friends who surely don’t need this? We should be ok financially for a while if I don’t work, but I’m concerned about my mental health more than the finances. I have these lovely children & a superstar husband why can’t I be a ‘proper’ human being??!!!!!!
