Am Not Coping

Am Not Coping

I am really not coping at the moment but this is entirely on ME!

This is a message for a few people on here @utopia @Former-Member @Faith-and-Hope @Former-Member

that I asked could be passed on but it seems that only part of it has been and I understand from the responses that have made it through my emails that I have caused untold distress for some people. I was not going to return because of what I felt I put people through but I especially wanted @utopia and @Former-Member to know that they were not wrong at the time and I was going through a real crisis period. You both held me together for longer than I could myself until the point where my own self-destructive thoughts overwhelmed me.

The entire message that I sent to SANE is below:

I have just viewed the multitude of emails and messages sent from forum members and members of the SANE team – as well as the text and voice message left on my phone.

I have not been able to communicate with anyone since the other night as I have been recovering from what ended up being an unsuccessful attempt to end the pain.

At the time I was in a very distressed state and I did want to stop the pain and all I seemed to achieve is to cause others pain and worry and that is the last thing I wanted to do – I just wanted to end mine and say goodbye to everyone beforehand so my future absence was explained. I should have realised that the message I posted would have concerned some people but I really was not in any state to think about the repercussions for others.

I am so sorry I caused so much distress to others – that is something I will have to hopefully try and live with.

I don’t believe after the concern and anxiety I caused to so many that I will ever be able to return to the forum.

Can someone from the SANE team please explain all this to all those involved and pass on my gratitude for their compassion, concerns and kind words throughout the time I have been part of the ‘forum family’.

Thank you and sorry again for the difficult position I put everyone in.

Zoe7

I do not want any responses from any of you. I just wanted to let you know exactly what has happened and let you know how truly sorry I am for hurting people I have come to think of as friends and family, and who I really care about.

Your support, advice and compassion are what make you all the wonderful people you are.

@utopia and @Former-Member I am so sorry that the trust you placed in me has now been broken because of my actions. I also felt that we had a stronger connection, especially over the last week, and you both helped me in ways I cannot even describe or explain. I was not pulling away from you two - just wanted to pull away from myself. I couldn't cope with my own feelings and no-one or nothing was actually going to be able to stop me at the time. It's now just another failure to add to my list of failures. I really don't know what else to say to you both but to reiterate my heartfelt 'sorry'.

Re: Am Not Coping

No motivation yet today @Sam3 but am watching the tennis so that may come later when the tennis has finished. It's a game I wanted to watch last night but it got rained out so it is on today. Yes 'normal' is relative and too often I think we compare ourselves to others rather than working on just improving ourselves - if we can do that then the only person we dissapoint is ourselves and then we can strive to do better next time. Being self-aware helps with our depression as well - and part of that is knowing that rest days/times are inevitable to get through and just accepting those times is all we need to do rther than kick ourselves for not doing more.

good afternoon @Sam3, @MDT, @Sans911, @Former-Member, @BlueBay, @oceangirl, @Former-Member

thank you my sister @Zoe7

we just got home -- we brought half the chemist this morning

me -- I have an infection , on ab`s now , next week have to have more blood test and other tests as my kidney has gone down to 21% and other things are up

Mr shaz has to have an xray next week , the doctor has put him on pain relief and other meds , have to see what the xray says

and then he asked mr shaz about his MI meds and when his last checkup was -- 3 and a half years ago -- the doctor said he needs another checkup so he is going to read up on mr shaz`s past history , so got another appointment marked in

dropped in to see how my mum was this morning

Re: Am Not Coping

It seems like it was a very good idea getting to the doctor for both you and Mr. Shaz @Shaz51 Good that you have AB for the infection and great that you doctor is going to review Mr. Shaz after so long. I hope the xray is clear for you both but good that it is being done. Both of you are in the wars at the moment so look after yourself as best you can my sister.

great that you doctor is going to review Mr. Shaz after so long. -- yes very true my sister @Zoe7,

it will be interesting to see what he says and what is followered up as we go through a lot of doctors in our small town

yes it was a good idea , just we were not expecting it this morning

Re: Am Not Coping

It is a good sign that the doctor wants to read the notes first @Shaz51 and that he even picked up that it has been a long time since there has been any assessment or review done - that is all positive. Hopefully he can help you both as well - you deal with so much yourself that it would be nice to have someone on your side helping you too

Re: Am Not Coping

I’m sending positive vibes to you @Shaz51 & Mr Shaz. Good effort to get to Dr this morning so hope you’re having a relaxing afternoon.

I saw this article by Princess Kate’s brother about his ‘private’ battle with depression which was kind of encouraging;

Re: Am Not Coping

How are you getting on now @Zoe7. Any motivation kicked in after watching the tennis?!

@Former-Member how are things for you at present?

Hope volunteering went well for you @Sans911

@MDT how are the plans for overseas work going? Do you ever have trouble with motivation?

How's the abstinence going @TAB

I’m so tired of not being able to get into a routine or get motivated, but to be fair I am still recovering from a nasty depressive episode & am on 3x previous medication dose, I was made redundant 3 days ago & I’m grieving my parents & the life I thought I’d be able to give my kids (ie one in which their mother left her bedroom more often lol). Any responses please to making a travel insurance claim necessary due to mental illness? ....on the positive I’m trying to practice gratitude as a regular event.

I’ve been thinking about your comments regarding mindfulness @Former-Member & I know what you mean (especially because I don’t do things routinely nor practice, practice, practice..). I think you mentioned positive neuroplasticity training which I’ve found a bit easier to attempt. Here’s something that @Former-MemberI will no doubt agree with as she’s been doing affirmations:

”As a single footstep will not make a path on the earth, so a single thought will not make a pathway in the mind. To make a deep physical path, we walk again & again. To make a deep mental path, we must think over & over the kind of thoughts we wish to dominate our lives” - Henry David Thoreau
