Am Not Coping

Am Not Coping

I am really not coping at the moment but this is entirely on ME!

This is a message for a few people on here @utopia @Former-Member @Faith-and-Hope @Former-Member

that I asked could be passed on but it seems that only part of it has been and I understand from the responses that have made it through my emails that I have caused untold distress for some people. I was not going to return because of what I felt I put people through but I especially wanted @utopia and @Former-Member to know that they were not wrong at the time and I was going through a real crisis period. You both held me together for longer than I could myself until the point where my own self-destructive thoughts overwhelmed me.

The entire message that I sent to SANE is below:

I have just viewed the multitude of emails and messages sent from forum members and members of the SANE team – as well as the text and voice message left on my phone.

I have not been able to communicate with anyone since the other night as I have been recovering from what ended up being an unsuccessful attempt to end the pain.

At the time I was in a very distressed state and I did want to stop the pain and all I seemed to achieve is to cause others pain and worry and that is the last thing I wanted to do – I just wanted to end mine and say goodbye to everyone beforehand so my future absence was explained. I should have realised that the message I posted would have concerned some people but I really was not in any state to think about the repercussions for others.

I am so sorry I caused so much distress to others – that is something I will have to hopefully try and live with.

I don’t believe after the concern and anxiety I caused to so many that I will ever be able to return to the forum.

Can someone from the SANE team please explain all this to all those involved and pass on my gratitude for their compassion, concerns and kind words throughout the time I have been part of the ‘forum family’.

Thank you and sorry again for the difficult position I put everyone in.

Zoe7

I do not want any responses from any of you. I just wanted to let you know exactly what has happened and let you know how truly sorry I am for hurting people I have come to think of as friends and family, and who I really care about.

Your support, advice and compassion are what make you all the wonderful people you are.

@utopia and @Former-Member I am so sorry that the trust you placed in me has now been broken because of my actions. I also felt that we had a stronger connection, especially over the last week, and you both helped me in ways I cannot even describe or explain. I was not pulling away from you two - just wanted to pull away from myself. I couldn't cope with my own feelings and no-one or nothing was actually going to be able to stop me at the time. It's now just another failure to add to my list of failures. I really don't know what else to say to you both but to reiterate my heartfelt 'sorry'.

Re: Am Not Coping

Thank you @Sam3. As an agency nurse, I never disclosed to either the agency or workplaces. I have very good insight (mostly) but it was my self harming that brought them to light. I still believe I was discriminated against and could have kept working, because the loss of work brought me down into a huge spiral that nearly ended my life. It's a loss I'm still struggling to accept.

As I got more stable last year, I needed a purpose, a reason to stay alive. I've always enjoyed helping others, hence the volunteer work.

Re: Am Not Coping

This morning my sister is coming around to help move the remaining things that need to be moved in the garage before I can begin the wall. There is also some prep work that I can do before getting the sheets needed to do the wall so this morning will be all about 'the wall'. It is supposed to be mid 20s today so needing to get this all done before it gets too hot - having a clear laserlite roof now means the garage is like an oven in the afternoon but that will be good to be able to work in there in winter when it is colder.

Yesterday was a complete right off - I spent most of the day sleeping and then watched the cricket last night - my team lost but they have been playing well so one loss won't hurt them too much. Next game is a couple of days away so hoping for a better showing then.

Needing also to clean up inside but that can wait until I get the garage done - that is my priority whilst the weather is nice - then I can start moving things back in, get the shelves put up nd start sorting all my tools and other things that will 'live' in the garage. Doing all that will make it much easier to access things and help with making space to work in there also.

Tomorrow is pay day and I really need the money right now but I am not getting as much as I expected and it is way lower than the income protection I was getting so the next couple of weeks will be very tight. Thank goodness I have Bunnings gift cards that I can use to get the sheets for the garage. I have enough food to get me through the next 2 weeks and Toby and Cat food is okay as well but I do have a couple of bills that need to be paid this pay. Will pay them straight away but also know there are other bills I expect coming in this month so will need to budget really carefully for those too. Going to be a difficult month until I return to work - hoping I will find out more about that next week also.

@outlander @Sans911 @Former-Member @TAB @Sam3 @Former-Member and all passing through this thread - hope you have some light in your day today

Re: Am Not Coping

Thanks for your update @Zoe7 & no surprise you needed a quiet day yesterday. Glad you were able to use income protection but would be interested to know if you’re willing to disclose whether the claim was based on physical or mental health or both? Sounds like you manage yourself & your finances so brilliantly under pressure - that’s inspiring. I need to get to work soon but have a headache so am taking it slow & it’s a strain seeing so many people (many with dementia) for over 8 hours each day ... whoops do I sound like I’m complaining when it’s just do fortunate I have a straightforward yet repetitive job close to home? Should REALLY get going now but the disincentive is that those oldies ain’t going anywhere anyway (actually some do go out for the day but I can see them late in the afternoon!).

Have a pleasant day @outlander@Sans911@Former-Member@TAB@MDT & anyone else passing through...

Re: Am Not Coping

My income protection claim was for depression. anxiety and PTSD @Sam3 Was on that for 2 years and despite it only being 75% of my normal income I manage to get through - I did have a little help to pay my mortgage early on from my sister and mother as I had to wait to be paid for a couple of months and my savings ran out quite quickly - then I was back paid for those couple of months and could budget for what I was going to get from then on. It was really difficult when some bills came in all at once though but I managed. I am now getting even less than I was from income protection so very much looking forward to going back to work and getting more again.

It sounds like you have a repetitive job but it is good that it is close to home. I am very much hoping that my new school is closer to home as well. I have been travelling for over 10 years so something closer would mean I could do more things after work and have a little more time up my sleeves.

Hope you have a good day @Sam3
