Am Not Coping

Am Not Coping

I am really not coping at the moment but this is entirely on ME!

This is a message for a few people on here @utopia @Former-Member @Faith-and-Hope @Former-Member

that I asked could be passed on but it seems that only part of it has been and I understand from the responses that have made it through my emails that I have caused untold distress for some people. I was not going to return because of what I felt I put people through but I especially wanted @utopia and @Former-Member to know that they were not wrong at the time and I was going through a real crisis period. You both held me together for longer than I could myself until the point where my own self-destructive thoughts overwhelmed me.

The entire message that I sent to SANE is below:

I have just viewed the multitude of emails and messages sent from forum members and members of the SANE team – as well as the text and voice message left on my phone.

I have not been able to communicate with anyone since the other night as I have been recovering from what ended up being an unsuccessful attempt to end the pain.

At the time I was in a very distressed state and I did want to stop the pain and all I seemed to achieve is to cause others pain and worry and that is the last thing I wanted to do – I just wanted to end mine and say goodbye to everyone beforehand so my future absence was explained. I should have realised that the message I posted would have concerned some people but I really was not in any state to think about the repercussions for others.

I am so sorry I caused so much distress to others – that is something I will have to hopefully try and live with.

I don’t believe after the concern and anxiety I caused to so many that I will ever be able to return to the forum.

Can someone from the SANE team please explain all this to all those involved and pass on my gratitude for their compassion, concerns and kind words throughout the time I have been part of the ‘forum family’.

Thank you and sorry again for the difficult position I put everyone in.

I do not want any responses from any of you. I just wanted to let you know exactly what has happened and let you know how truly sorry I am for hurting people I have come to think of as friends and family, and who I really care about.

Your support, advice and compassion are what make you all the wonderful people you are.

@utopia and @Former-Member I am so sorry that the trust you placed in me has now been broken because of my actions. I also felt that we had a stronger connection, especially over the last week, and you both helped me in ways I cannot even describe or explain. I was not pulling away from you two - just wanted to pull away from myself. I couldn't cope with my own feelings and no-one or nothing was actually going to be able to stop me at the time. It's now just another failure to add to my list of failures. I really don't know what else to say to you both but to reiterate my heartfelt 'sorry'.

Good morning @Sans911 Yes it is finally getting done - I must say I am a bit excited about that but also know I am physically not able to do it all on my own so getting the help will be great,

How are you going Hon?

Hey @Sam3
All quiet here. Job hunting today. Proving hard but folks think it'll pay off. Watch. This space I guess.

Hope you have a good day

G'day @Zoe7 and others

Hi @MDT So good that your parents are helping you - and that they are confident it will all pay off. I am with your parents on that one - I think it will pay off for you too

I had a very busy day yesterday selling some of my furniture. And then 4hours solid volunteering in the op shop left me exhausted. Didn't have a great nights sleep either, so feeling it today. It's an easy day though. I'm trying to pack a bit more as it's going to be a very hot week, so I probably won't feel up to it.

Re: Am Not Coping

There are a few of us that didn't have a gopd night @Sans911 so you are in good company there. That doesn't make it easier to get through everything you need to today.

I am truly inspired by how much you are doing - gives me that little bit more incentive to get stuck into things here as well. I know you don't have a choice because you are moving house but you are getting things done and that is awesome. Glad you sold your furniture - any little bit of extra cash will be helpful with the move too.

I love that you are volunteering at the op shop - must make you feel like you can handle work again soon as well - and even though it is tiring you are doing something really worthwhile - go You

Re: Am Not Coping

Thanks @Zoe7 although I think you already know that with you and I it's a vice versa thing.

I enjoy the volunteering at the op shop. Not only because I know I could manage the hours, but the other lady I work with is always praising me for working so well. That's gold for me. And I don't work hard just for the praise. It's something I've always done. For me, a job is there to be done, paid or unpaid. Sitting around drinking tea doesn't get stuff done. And then someone else has to do it. So I just get stuck in. You can still have fun, laugh a bit, chat with others, but the priority is work.

I like it when the shop is tidy, people are impressed with that and they can find things easily.

I had a bit of a special moment yesterday too. A homeless aboriginal man came into the shop. He picked out a pair of shorts & t-shirt. He came up to the counter, told me he was homeless, had no money, and he just wanted clean clothes. I had to get permission to give them to him, but it was nice to do that and say take care. In the last couple of years, I've been very close to being homeless, so I understand it must be a devastating way to exist.

Oops, I think I'm rambling a bit. But you're very easy to talk to my lovely friend.

That is such a special moment for you @Sans911 - made me smile

It does feel good to help others and even better when your hard work is recognised ...although we don't do it for recognition it does give us a heartlift and that is indeed gold.

I find you easy to chat too as well ...and yes we are among many here who inspire each other - sometimes it is the simple things that each one of us does that helps others on here. I find sometimes just hearing people who have not been able to do much that push themselves to get a few things done around the house inspiring also - it takes a lot sometimes to get us motivated and you certainly have done a great job there @Sans911

I presume that the op shop becomes a place for some to connect with others and so they enjoy the cup of tea and company as well. I would be much like you though - I would be there to work as well and would take in pride knowing I was doing something that would benefit others

Hope the photography lesson is fun @Sans911. I have just moved a few more things and resting again for a bit. I think what remains needs to be helped with so I might even get some lunch first.

Thanks for chatting - it has been lovely connecting with you too this morning
