Am Not Coping

Am Not Coping

I am really not coping at the moment but this is entirely on ME!

This is a message for a few people on here @utopia @Former-Member @Faith-and-Hope @Former-Member

that I asked could be passed on but it seems that only part of it has been and I understand from the responses that have made it through my emails that I have caused untold distress for some people. I was not going to return because of what I felt I put people through but I especially wanted @utopia and @Former-Member to know that they were not wrong at the time and I was going through a real crisis period. You both held me together for longer than I could myself until the point where my own self-destructive thoughts overwhelmed me.

The entire message that I sent to SANE is below:

I have just viewed the multitude of emails and messages sent from forum members and members of the SANE team – as well as the text and voice message left on my phone.

I have not been able to communicate with anyone since the other night as I have been recovering from what ended up being an unsuccessful attempt to end the pain.

At the time I was in a very distressed state and I did want to stop the pain and all I seemed to achieve is to cause others pain and worry and that is the last thing I wanted to do – I just wanted to end mine and say goodbye to everyone beforehand so my future absence was explained. I should have realised that the message I posted would have concerned some people but I really was not in any state to think about the repercussions for others.

I am so sorry I caused so much distress to others – that is something I will have to hopefully try and live with.

I don’t believe after the concern and anxiety I caused to so many that I will ever be able to return to the forum.

Can someone from the SANE team please explain all this to all those involved and pass on my gratitude for their compassion, concerns and kind words throughout the time I have been part of the ‘forum family’.

Thank you and sorry again for the difficult position I put everyone in.

Zoe7

I do not want any responses from any of you. I just wanted to let you know exactly what has happened and let you know how truly sorry I am for hurting people I have come to think of as friends and family, and who I really care about.

Your support, advice and compassion are what make you all the wonderful people you are.

@utopia and @Former-Member I am so sorry that the trust you placed in me has now been broken because of my actions. I also felt that we had a stronger connection, especially over the last week, and you both helped me in ways I cannot even describe or explain. I was not pulling away from you two - just wanted to pull away from myself. I couldn't cope with my own feelings and no-one or nothing was actually going to be able to stop me at the time. It's now just another failure to add to my list of failures. I really don't know what else to say to you both but to reiterate my heartfelt 'sorry'.

Re: Am Not Coping

Wow @Zoe7 you write beautifully with such generosity & compassion - thank you very much. I will endeavour to extend the same to you & others on the forum. Here’s something funny: I’ve finally made it out to the park with the kids but not without drama. My 9yo locked himself in the treehouse in order to avoid going out (husband at work had the spare key!). Thankfully, he saw sense & is now kicking the ball at the park with his older brother (& even just hugged me). I’ve taken on too much & I feel like a child myself avoiding grown-up responsibilities. Life tasks do seem insurmountable & it’s actually my husband who does most of them. I certainly think too much & do too little in a big cycle of avoidance. Thanks for being accepting. Hope others in the group have peace of mind & accomplished their goals - got to officeworks/got washing done/etc

Re: Am Not Coping

You have gone out to the park with the kids and that is an accomplishment for today @Sam3. Sometimes we dismiss the smaller things like getting to the park when in our reality they are big things - don't dismiss the little things you do as combined they add up. Some days just getting out of bed is an accomplishment. If there is one thing I have learnt over time it is that we have to take the positives, recognise them and allow ourselves to ackniwledge them - that way we build up a bank of 'good' in what can often be seen as a bad day. Focussing too much on the negatives can send us into that spiral into the darkness and that is one place that is hard to get out of. So my advice here would be to acknowledge that you got out with the kids despite there being opposition to begin with and hold on to that memory of your son hugging you because moments like that can be gold in an otherwise blah day.

You will find that many members visit this thread at different times but there is a core grup that you will 'see' here often - it is where I feel most comfortable and post most often - so you will never be alone on this thread - and we are more than happy to have you here Hon

Lol. I was a bit slow coming. 😬😂

Was too exhausted to type anything before. Sorry. Wanted to, but needed

a brief nap.

D needs to have another test. 🙃🤔😖

Not sure when she’ll do that.

It gets too much for her (and me).

She already has another appointment with a specialist in the new year, regarding something else which she’ll need an operation for. The first appointment involves a test which she’ll need some prn to get through. It was very painful last time. I had to look away. Glad she knows to take prn this time.

Last specialist said, it won’t hurt. But it was terrible.

I refuse to take her back there. He’s very expensive too.

Im usually in “too hard basket”. It was a different doctor, because most are on holidays.

She talked about IBS. Joys of life.

I just do my own research. And eat what I can.

Back soon. 💜💜

Re: Am Not Coping

You got here eventually @Former-Member lol

I have IBS and take meds to help. It took just over 3 years of many test to get diagnosed and really affects everything I do. Learning to deal with it takes time and yes research too. There are a lot of things I can't eat but I love my vegetables and salads so that makes it a bit easier. Eating smaller meals more often also helps. That is harder to do when I am at work but easier to do when I am home.

It sucks that your daughter has to have more tests and I can understand why it gets too much for you and her Hon - mega sucks Glad she is getting a prn to help.

I will try to be here when you come back later Hon - watching the cricket so will be up for a while yet.

Hey @Zoe7 is FF on tonight?

Re: Am Not Coping

It would probably have to be a self-governed thing tonight @MDT because the usual Friday night moderators are not working due to the christmas-new year's break. There doesn't seem to be many around either so that makes it a little less frequented also.

Maybe if you begin then others will join in.

Re: Am Not Coping

That’s ok. Enjoy the cricket @Zoe7 I am just going to try and relax. Maybe early night. Hmm!

Ive never been told that there are meds for IBS. A couple of months ago I started taking IBS support, I think it’s called. Ethical nutrients brand. It has different ingredients than the Inner Health probiotic. It helps a little, but still have to avoid lots of different foods.

Had salad for dinner.

A cuppa and toast with honey. Organic bread.

Hey! I notice you there @TAB

👋😺

Re: Am Not Coping

I certainly notice the difference when I don't have the meds as well as the supplements I take @Former-Member The meds help with the inflammation and I am careful with what I eat most days. I don't eat much bread or meat - both of those affect me a lot. It has been trial and error over a few years though and there are some combinations of foods that affect me more.

It looks like we will lose the cricket tonight - the fielding has been shocking
