Am Not Coping

Am Not Coping

I am really not coping at the moment but this is entirely on ME!

This is a message for a few people on here @utopia @Former-Member @Faith-and-Hope @Former-Member

that I asked could be passed on but it seems that only part of it has been and I understand from the responses that have made it through my emails that I have caused untold distress for some people. I was not going to return because of what I felt I put people through but I especially wanted @utopia and @Former-Member to know that they were not wrong at the time and I was going through a real crisis period. You both held me together for longer than I could myself until the point where my own self-destructive thoughts overwhelmed me.

The entire message that I sent to SANE is below:

I have just viewed the multitude of emails and messages sent from forum members and members of the SANE team – as well as the text and voice message left on my phone.

I have not been able to communicate with anyone since the other night as I have been recovering from what ended up being an unsuccessful attempt to end the pain.

At the time I was in a very distressed state and I did want to stop the pain and all I seemed to achieve is to cause others pain and worry and that is the last thing I wanted to do – I just wanted to end mine and say goodbye to everyone beforehand so my future absence was explained. I should have realised that the message I posted would have concerned some people but I really was not in any state to think about the repercussions for others.

I am so sorry I caused so much distress to others – that is something I will have to hopefully try and live with.

I don’t believe after the concern and anxiety I caused to so many that I will ever be able to return to the forum.

Can someone from the SANE team please explain all this to all those involved and pass on my gratitude for their compassion, concerns and kind words throughout the time I have been part of the ‘forum family’.

Thank you and sorry again for the difficult position I put everyone in.

Zoe7

I do not want any responses from any of you. I just wanted to let you know exactly what has happened and let you know how truly sorry I am for hurting people I have come to think of as friends and family, and who I really care about.

Your support, advice and compassion are what make you all the wonderful people you are.

@utopia and @Former-Member I am so sorry that the trust you placed in me has now been broken because of my actions. I also felt that we had a stronger connection, especially over the last week, and you both helped me in ways I cannot even describe or explain. I was not pulling away from you two - just wanted to pull away from myself. I couldn't cope with my own feelings and no-one or nothing was actually going to be able to stop me at the time. It's now just another failure to add to my list of failures. I really don't know what else to say to you both but to reiterate my heartfelt 'sorry'.

Re: Am Not Coping

@utopia I'm actually feeling quite anxious about it - new person, new place, same stuff etc. etc. At least I'll see my GP the day before and straight after appointment.

Naww Toby 💛 give him a pat from me please. I'm not a dog person but I can't smell him from here so i will make an exception for him. Did your dishes fairy come yet @Zoe7? Mine did not so I had to do them myself.

@utopia - wow that sounds intense (your brain). Glad you're feeling ok today

Sorry @utopia - just reread that and also hope you dont take offense to me saying your brain sounds intense! I didn't mean it to come out like that!

@Former-Member. Yes prouds will either replace the necklace or refund your money.
@Phoenix_Rising. Zoe was wondering if the neurologist found my brain. I thought you would say I had one - but it wasn't working due to watching too much MaFS.
@Zoe7 - I can imagine being nervous with a new person. She will already have a lot of information about your history from your gp. So I don't think she will push you to talk about too much of your history. Maybe more of what causes you anxiety etc and how it's impacted your life. And what things may help recentre you.
This psychiatrist sounds good. If possible - can you try not to think too far ahead. But at the same time know that this is the beginning of getting more help.

@Former-Member I get that - sometimes it is the really little things (like a necklace) that make us feel connected to something or someone and have the greatest impact upon our happiness.

@Former-Member Toby is not much bigger than Cat - and I wasn't a dog person either until I cam home with him one day.You don'tknow the story so I will tell you the brief version:

  • went to pet shop to get a fish tank to replace leaky one at school (cost- $60)
  • saw two little fluufy puupy dogs in shop
  • shop assistant put said puppies on the floor
  • Toby ran straight to me and jumped on my lap
  • Bought puppy (cost $600)
  • went home without fish tank but with puppy
  • Cat thought he was a teddy until he moved
  • Cat got used to him
  • Love them both to bits
  • The End.

Love that story! Especially the happy ending. I am guilty of coming home from places with animals that were not so planned but meant to be too. One of my most special was a rabbit when I was younger. My parents freaked but he quickly ran the house. Now it's just the cats for us but with their antics they're enough!

Well...to be honest I did write something like that but then I wasn't sure if it was socially appropriate. I was going to say that strokes are banned because they are ALMOST as bad for brain cells as MaFS . Note to self; it is safe to risk committing a social faux pas in the octagonal room.

Re: Am Not Coping

@utopia The one thing that does ease my mind a little is how lovely the office people have been when they have rung me - and my GP has spoken to them and the psychiatrist and has said the same. The psychiatrist also rang her and apologised for not taking her initial call because she was with someone - an apology and an explanation that wasn't actually needed says a lot about her character - and that is important. If my GP likes her then that is a good start - she is confident from the few conversations they have had that she will be a 'good fit' for me. I suppose we will see next week - it's only taken nearly 5 months to get in to someone - another week will be a breeze lol
