Am Not Coping

Am Not Coping

I am really not coping at the moment but this is entirely on ME!

This is a message for a few people on here @utopia @Former-Member @Faith-and-Hope @Former-Member

that I asked could be passed on but it seems that only part of it has been and I understand from the responses that have made it through my emails that I have caused untold distress for some people. I was not going to return because of what I felt I put people through but I especially wanted @utopia and @Former-Member to know that they were not wrong at the time and I was going through a real crisis period. You both held me together for longer than I could myself until the point where my own self-destructive thoughts overwhelmed me.

The entire message that I sent to SANE is below:

I have just viewed the multitude of emails and messages sent from forum members and members of the SANE team – as well as the text and voice message left on my phone.

I have not been able to communicate with anyone since the other night as I have been recovering from what ended up being an unsuccessful attempt to end the pain.

At the time I was in a very distressed state and I did want to stop the pain and all I seemed to achieve is to cause others pain and worry and that is the last thing I wanted to do – I just wanted to end mine and say goodbye to everyone beforehand so my future absence was explained. I should have realised that the message I posted would have concerned some people but I really was not in any state to think about the repercussions for others.

I am so sorry I caused so much distress to others – that is something I will have to hopefully try and live with.

I don’t believe after the concern and anxiety I caused to so many that I will ever be able to return to the forum.

Can someone from the SANE team please explain all this to all those involved and pass on my gratitude for their compassion, concerns and kind words throughout the time I have been part of the ‘forum family’.

Thank you and sorry again for the difficult position I put everyone in.

Zoe7

I do not want any responses from any of you. I just wanted to let you know exactly what has happened and let you know how truly sorry I am for hurting people I have come to think of as friends and family, and who I really care about.

Your support, advice and compassion are what make you all the wonderful people you are.

@utopia and @Former-Member I am so sorry that the trust you placed in me has now been broken because of my actions. I also felt that we had a stronger connection, especially over the last week, and you both helped me in ways I cannot even describe or explain. I was not pulling away from you two - just wanted to pull away from myself. I couldn't cope with my own feelings and no-one or nothing was actually going to be able to stop me at the time. It's now just another failure to add to my list of failures. I really don't know what else to say to you both but to reiterate my heartfelt 'sorry'.

Hi @utopia

No not in Victoria - in Tassie. It's not very warm today and quite windy - I really hate the wind - think I've said that before!?

Can you talk about the theme of your dreams or is that just something you need to keep to yourself and work through on your own?

Re: Am Not Coping

No. I have no secrets @Zoe7. I was more concerned the theme may be triggering.
The theme is trapped. I've had these sorts of dreams last year - although those were more graphic and scary. These are scary - but not in the same league.
Trapped feeling has a lot to do with my emotions around my old friend. They also occur when I'm sliding towards my depression vortex. But I'm determined not to go there. So I'll keep fighting this inner dialog.

Re: Am Not Coping

@utopia No not triggering - nothing and everything is triggering atm. I'm glad you can see the signs and are being really positive in trying to stop the slide

It's so hard to fight the emotions - especially when they are so fresh and so raw - so you are doing a fantastic job Keep fighting that spiral and keep moving forward xxx

Re: Am Not Coping

@Zoe7. The other day - all thay was going through my head was - "just fall into the abyss. Don't fight it anymore. It's easy to just sink into the depression". It's bloody hard to pull yourself away from that talk. Sleep helps. A bit like if I'm in physical pain - I take a oain killer - go to sleep - and wake up pain free (hopefully). I do the same with depression pain. Sometimes it works. But I can still feel it in the background - at the moment - so I have to keep pushing through. The forum or tv sometimes takes my mind off things.
How are you going to fight or ignore your negative talk or demons tonight? Is it still light enough to take Toby for a walk? Or do you not have the energy?
I don't think I could walk anywhere tonight. I'm spent.

Re: Am Not Coping

@utopia I don't have the energy to do anything. I'm even struggling to find the words here without causing any alarm. I wish I hadn't failed last week. Don't be concerned - I am safe - just struggling. I feel like I'm going over and over old ground and wasting everyone's time. I don't want to be a burden to anyone - I just want all this to stop. I really don't even have the energy to fight it at the moment. I'm sorry that you have spent so much time on here with me lately - I'm sure there are plenty of other people you could be connecting with and supporting who you can actually help. I know I have really needed it but I just feel like I am now letting people down because I seem to be getting worse not better.

Re: Am Not Coping

@Zoe7. I'm talking with you because I want to talk to you. Not because you were or are suicidal. I enjoy our conversations. We don't always have to be happy and have a laugh to have a conversation. So don't worry about me. If I didn't want to talk to you - I wouldn't. That's who I am. Blunt. So you are just stuck with me. Lol.
You are not a burden to anyone. You are simply a person who is going through a bloody tough time - who needs help/support & deserves help/support. We all need extra help at times. Don't begrudge yourself getting help when you need it.
It sucks when it feels like we are stuck in the same place and not moving forward. But sometimes standing still can be good. That's what you need to focus on tonight. Simply standing still. Holding onto anything that stops you sliding back. If it's me, other friends, your gp or psychologist, your Cat or Toby, puzzles, soft music, sewing, sleeping. Whatever it takes - you can do it. As hard as it is - try to remember this minute is temporary. It will pass. Another minute will come. And another after that. And soon - it will be easier. Soon it won't be such a struggle. Soon you won't have to fight so hard.
I believe in you. I believe in your wonderful gp.
And you have whatever support you need - right here.
If it's too hard to talk. We can talk another time. If your happy to read my shite - I can do that too. Whatever you need. It's what friends do. ♥♥

Re: Am Not Coping

Seconding what @utopia said @Zoe7. As much as we don't want to hear that you're still in emotional pain, there's no pressure to be feeling anything other than the way you do. Recovery can't be rushed and isn't always linear. It's great that you're still talking with us.

Hi @Zoe7

As the years pass separated from my old girlfriend and her kids

And a lot of bad luck in my life

I'm getting more and more dangerous

But in a fatherly way

And in a protective way

I'm getting more and more dangerous

Their predicament is getting more and more personal for me as well

But i'm pretty well behaved

Re: Am Not Coping

@utopia I'm happy to read your shite anytime

A few things were sorted out today which should make me feel better but it just doesn't.

My GP spoke to the HR Manager and they are dealing with work from that end - I don't need to be involved at all. I only have to speak to my GP about it all. According to the HR Manager I can take all the time I need and they will be there to do whatever they can to support me both now and when/if I return to work. Apparently there are a lot of people really concerned about me but I don't believe this because the only people that know anything are my GP, Psych and Principal. I think my GP was just saying that to make me feel better - I really can't reconcile that remark with the facts. Just adds to the confusion in my head.

@Former-Member thanks
