Am Not Coping

Am Not Coping

I am really not coping at the moment but this is entirely on ME!

This is a message for a few people on here @utopia @Former-Member @Faith-and-Hope @Former-Member

that I asked could be passed on but it seems that only part of it has been and I understand from the responses that have made it through my emails that I have caused untold distress for some people. I was not going to return because of what I felt I put people through but I especially wanted @utopia and @Former-Member to know that they were not wrong at the time and I was going through a real crisis period. You both held me together for longer than I could myself until the point where my own self-destructive thoughts overwhelmed me.

The entire message that I sent to SANE is below:

I have just viewed the multitude of emails and messages sent from forum members and members of the SANE team – as well as the text and voice message left on my phone.

I have not been able to communicate with anyone since the other night as I have been recovering from what ended up being an unsuccessful attempt to end the pain.

At the time I was in a very distressed state and I did want to stop the pain and all I seemed to achieve is to cause others pain and worry and that is the last thing I wanted to do – I just wanted to end mine and say goodbye to everyone beforehand so my future absence was explained. I should have realised that the message I posted would have concerned some people but I really was not in any state to think about the repercussions for others.

I am so sorry I caused so much distress to others – that is something I will have to hopefully try and live with.

I don’t believe after the concern and anxiety I caused to so many that I will ever be able to return to the forum.

Can someone from the SANE team please explain all this to all those involved and pass on my gratitude for their compassion, concerns and kind words throughout the time I have been part of the ‘forum family’.

Thank you and sorry again for the difficult position I put everyone in.

Zoe7

I do not want any responses from any of you. I just wanted to let you know exactly what has happened and let you know how truly sorry I am for hurting people I have come to think of as friends and family, and who I really care about.

Your support, advice and compassion are what make you all the wonderful people you are.

@utopia and @Former-Member I am so sorry that the trust you placed in me has now been broken because of my actions. I also felt that we had a stronger connection, especially over the last week, and you both helped me in ways I cannot even describe or explain. I was not pulling away from you two - just wanted to pull away from myself. I couldn't cope with my own feelings and no-one or nothing was actually going to be able to stop me at the time. It's now just another failure to add to my list of failures. I really don't know what else to say to you both but to reiterate my heartfelt 'sorry'.

Dearest @Zoe7

I'm so so pleased you are feeling a little calmer today. And also that you are seeing your GP this afternoon. It sounds as though you have a good relationship with your GP, and thats major!

You're so right about the wonderful caring support of this community, they certainly rally behind those who are struggling. Its lovely to see, and a privilege to be a part of, even if only in the small way that I am. Everyone was plainly worried about you, and rightly so, but they also got behind me too. So thanks everyone - @BlueBay @oceangirl @Former-Member @Former-Member @Shaz51 @Faith-and-Hope @utopia @Appleblossom @Smc. You helped me through a time where I was feeling very exposed, vulnerable and upset, but also dealing with feelings of guilt and concern about the harm I may have done to others here.

@Zoe7 - thanks for your kind words, you have brought tears once again to my eyes as well. I too thought I'd 'emptied the tear tank' this past week. But I was wrong. But these tears were happy and relieved ones, so thanks for dropping by and putting my mind at ease. And please dont revisit my thread until you are feeling strong enough to do so. There's no rush. I will still be here next week, next month, whatever. Just get yourself strong again, in whatever way you know how.

Re: Am Not Coping

@Former-Member I have an extraordinary relationship with my GP - I can contact her anytime - day or night. I see her nearly every day atm and she has previously texted or called me on her day off and weekends. She has also organised all my work stuff, insurance, psychologist, psychiatrist and basically anything else that has needed to be done to help me along the way.

I am so sorry that you felt you were the cause of anyone being harmed in any way on here - that is so totally not the way it was for me. I felt so much for you and so admired your courage. I have written a few things previously and either edited or deleted whole posts - so to write what you did is truly admirable. I can certainly emphasise with the feelings you have had in posting - very natural under the circumstances - I have certainly not been as brave as you to share my story openly - only parts of it with a select few (on here and inreal life). So you do truly inspire me and I do want to be able to get to a point one day that I am 'comfortable' enough to open up like you have.

Thankyou again for being so courageous and strong - it does make a difference in people's lives

Zoe

Re: Am Not Coping

Hi @Zoe7

Whatever your story - it takes strength and courage to live a genuine life - and I get it that yours has had trauma - and that you are working through it - and yes - even get it that you would like the world to float away and you with it

One good thing about growing older - so many things matter less - sure - the silver hair and partial dentures are a constant reminder - and where it the athlete I once was? But still - time passing and deep thinking produce some interesting values that were not available when I was younger

Perhaps I was looking in the wrong place - but yeah - I would wake up and cringe at the daylight - not another day - no - more of the same.

That has passed for many years now - I am not always joyful - but I find a lot to enjoy -

I do understand - another gift of the years - and I also know that it is only a closed mind that doesn't open up with the rain - watch for the stars when the rain has passed - notices the passage of the season -

And I could go on

Take your time - things do not stay the same forever

Thanks @Owlunar I always love hearing from you and I do listen - and yes it is just really hard at the moment but I also know I have made some steps forward - they may only be baby steps but that is ok.

Re: Am Not Coping

@Zoe7. So good to see you back here.
As tough as your weekend was - YOU MADE IT THROUGH. Am so proud of your strength.
I had 11 hours sleep. So much driving and anxiety this weekend. The anxiety was nothing I couldn't handle - but it does drain my energy reserves to stay on top.
You understand that.
But even with those anxious moments - I pushed through and had a good weekend.
The paintings in the Art Gallery were fantastic. Such detail. Only participated in two events at the Seven Sisters Festival. I slept in at my uncles. My ph went flat and he thought I could do with the sleep. So I got to the festival 2 & 1/2 hrs late.
I think to get the most benefit from the festival - it would have been better to do the full three days - rather than the single day.

Re: Am Not Coping

WOW 11 hours sleep - I think the sleep fairies have hit us both over this weekend

I am glad that you made it to the Art Gallery and you enjoyed seeing the paintings so much

Sorry that you didn't have as much time at the festival as you would have liked but happy you pushed through your anxiety and had a good weekend.

I do understand how draining it would have been for you to stay on top of everything and am so proud of you for both going and doing so well while you were there xxxxxxxxx

@utopia I am doing a little better today but I also know it will not take much to set me back again - so minute by minute, hour by hour at the moment!

I see my GP this afternoon and after that I will see how I am doing and whether I need to try for an early night (before it gets dark) or if I am ok to watch MaFS and do anything else. So if I am not around later - you know why.

In response to: Am Not Coping

Re: Am Not Coping

@Zoe7. Don't stress about MaFS. We can always watch it another time - reruns!
You do what you need to do for your health & wellbeing.
I know it's been hard for you. I'm glad you are taking steps to protect yourself and get through the next moment - the day.
Sending you lots of love.♥♥♥♥
