I have BPD, CPTSD, anxiety and depression how do I cope with having these problems and no family or friends to offer support. I feel so alone and overwhelmed by it all

Re: Help

Hey @Mumma02, thank you for sharing your experiences and joining the Forums!

I'm sorry to hear that you don't have the support of family or friends, and this is a very common experience in the community. We often don't get the support that we need or expect from the people closest to us. You are demonstrating your strength and resilience by reaching out to your peers in the community here.

I don't know if you have seen that SANE has a Guided Recovery program where you can have 1:1 sessions with a Peer Support Worker or Counsellor. It's a great way to connect with a support worker and work towards your goals. I encourage you to take a look here if you think it will be beneficial: Guided Service

The Forums are a great way to connect with like-minded people so please stay connected with the community.

Take care

Re: Help

This sounds incredibly difficult to manage, especially when you have such intense emotions, having no one there to support you can create that constant feeling of loneliness. You deserve to be surrounded by people who uplift you, having mutually beneficial relationships.
Do you have any formal support? You have stated you have no friends and family, which is huge in being disconnected, but sometimes receiving formal support from psychiatrists, psychologists, doctors etc can provide you with the strategies and tools to be able to start to create new relationships or build on existing ones.

BPD and CPTSD are so complex, my heart goes out to you, have you considered being involved in any community efforts? I know sometimes new relationships can blossom from just being involved in a community garden, volunteering at local events, attending church etc. 🌸

Re: Help

Hi there thank you for your message. I have 2 kids but I try really hard to put on a brave face in front of them but it’s bloody hard, I live with my daughter so she sees and hears a lot and more than I realise.

I have a psychologist and a support worker but they are both really new and I don’t have contact with them everyday and I do feel so alone and it’s a horrible feeling, the one person I need and want the care and support from is my mother but I don’t have that at all so I think all the time what’s the point of being here and after what’s happened twice in 8 weeks I really honestly think my life just isn’t worth this pain anymore

Re: Help

Hi @Mumma02

I am so sorry that you are struggling at the moment. It is hard as a mum when we try hard to hide our struggles from our children.

I am sorry to hear that the one person you want most isn't there for you. That must be painful for you.

It is really difficult when your only supports are unknown professionals. However, maybe as you have more time with them, you may feel more comfortable.

It took me 12 sessions with my current Psychologist to start feeling comfortable and really talking.

Recovery and/or management of mental health issues can be a slow, uphill process but I would encourage you to keep pushing forward. Any small achievement is a win.

You are worth it.
