Not coping

Not coping

Hi. I'm not sure what to say. I'm not coping well. Right now I'm actually numb and it's probably a shutdown coz my brain can't cope with everything. I'm autistic by the way. It just seems like I'm cursed....which is probably not a good thing to say coz I'm a Christian. And it's just so hard to cope with life. Apart from ASD I have multiple mental and physical health conditions and I just don't think I fit into this world. My life has just gotten worse over life. A lot of it is my fault I guess. I didn't want to admit I needed help. So things just got worse and worse. And now it's just too much for me to do alone. If you're Australian you probably know about the NDIS. Not sure how to explain it to those from a different country. But anyway I have some funding from it. And it's taken a long time to find a really good support worker and I was slowly getting more confident and doing things to improve my quality of life. I just found out today that she got fired. Honestly I can't go through the process of getting used to someone new right now.

I wish I could just pause life for a few weeks and just rest.

Why can't life be easy? Or why can't I be normal and be able to cope with life

Hey @BeautifullyScar ,

Thank you for sharing. That sounds so tough. I can see you are doing your best for things to improve, but it continues to be a challenge,

I'm sorry to hear that a support worker you connected with can no longer support you. I hear this quite often unfortunately. I'm glad you have NDIS funding so that you are eligible for some support.

Just a quick note, these forums only service Australians and cannot be accessed overseas.

What do you like doing in your spare time?

Hi. Thanks for letting me know this in Australia only. I probably should've known that but...brain.

I like crafts and listening to podcasts and audiobooks.

Re: Not coping

Sounds pretty cool @BeautifullyScar

As part of NDIS, can you do art therapy?

I've done art therapy before and it's pretty cool. Sounds like you have a lot of talents there 🙂

Makes me just want to say, "Wow!"

You're not alone in craving a break from needing to do lifey stuff. It all gets to be too much. It's not your fault that society doesn't make space for neurodivergency, and gives back shame when we don't function the way they want us to. There are so many fantastic support workers out there, you will find one in no time. Sending restful energy your way.
