COME SHARE YOUR PASSION PROJECT

Hey there forumites!!! 😊

We all have a project, hobby, interest or goal that we’re working on throughout our healing journey. Or perhaps you don’t but want to be inspired by others to try something new!

This is a space to share what you’re working on. No matter how big or small, we'd love to see the start, the middle, the complete, the incomplete – every and any part of the passion project and how it's been going for you! ✨

Whether it’s something that’s helping you stay distracted, grounded, or bringing you comfort and joy – feel free to share a post and/or picture (don’t forget to make sure it meets our community guidelines!) of your passion project journey! 💗

Re: COME SHARE YOUR PASSION PROJECT

I apologise @avant-garde @BPDSurvivor @rav3n @Glisten

This might sound self involved.

I was brought up in a very toxic environment with a step father who is properly diagnosed narcassistic

Mother borderline plus narcassistic.

Both negative people.

My step father tried hard to help me but gave up.

There was only aggression. Absolutely no empathy. For instance - My brother's were too damaged to even call me for over 15 years and offer love when my youngest son had cancer for over 15 years.

A diagnosis of bpd is fine. It was just my particular Mother with her upbringing, with her particular personality that made it so bad. However many many individuals have had it much worse than mine.

Bpd is about

  • Empathetic. Here's where the empathy comes from: feeling deeply. ...
  • Perceptive. Equipped with heightened intuition and sensitivity, subtle nuances and emotions are easily picked up on – leading to unique insights and perspectives. ...
  • Passionate. ...
  • Creative. ...
  • Resilient.

In all this - there is another thread

@tyme who's chooses to work on herself

@tyme who studies

@tyme who embraces with love

@tyme who knows herself

@tyme who embraces vulnerable people and who is upfront.

Compare - my mum

Mum my mum who pushed me out of home many nights because her emotions weren't contained

Mum who doesn't know herself

Mum who is a professional victim

Mum who is still aggressive and purposely triangulates her children and enjoys disharmony

Mum who was told I might die from the head injury and tried for it to happen.

Mum who can only see black and white and lies to tear good people up.

A diagnosis is a diagnosis. But you can use it for good or bad.

I chose to enter therapy because i didn't want to be a mother who would turn out like my mum.

@tyme uses her diagnosis for good not to pull out the bad stuff.

My mum who is unaware bodily can only self reflect.

She doesn't care if I practically starved because of being a sole parent when my kids were young.

@tyme who works hard in her role as a sane moderator. I see how @tyme treats all us regulars with caring and loving notes about all of us individually so we stay cared for.

My Mum who researches my step mother who 52 years ago had an affair with my dad and cared and loved him and mum still researches her to spread bad stories about her.

Sorry I'm no good at writing differences in people with bpd @avant-garde but do you get the drift?

Re: COME SHARE YOUR PASSION PROJECT

Another thing I forgot to say is that bpd can cause someone to feel quite up and down. @avant-garde

i curious as to whether you simply filled out the questionnaire/survey on a ‘good’ day and therefore the result was you front have BPD?

Do you have adhd? Sometimes the symptoms overlap

I don’t know. Just a thought.

I really like what you wrote @PeppyPatti . Makes a lot of Sense to me!

@BPDSurvivor

I may have been slightly wrong with the lengths, but I know I went through it once in 2012 and again in 2017, I just remember it being half the length of the full course.

It did have group and individual

I was never really told "symptoms" just know that I ticked the boxes and then didn't

@BPDSurvivor @PeppyPatti

This is all getting too overwhelming now

Re: COME SHARE YOUR PASSION PROJECT

@PeppyPatti @BPDSurvivor

I have trauma induced neurodivergency

Not ADHD because I am good at staying focused and getting things done

My former therapist said so.

I align to schedules

I like lists and spreadsheets

I over plan

I am brilliant at research

Certainly not ADHD

And yes I'm aware that I'm getting defensive

I just wanted to understand

Re: COME SHARE YOUR PASSION PROJECT

Hi @avant-garde , sorry if you are feeling overwhelmed. Totally not my intention.

i get you want to understand. I guess we are just all different?

i don’t read your above post as being defensive. Sorry if you feel this way.

Please don’t think im saying you have adhd. I was only asking because i have adhd. What i find interesting though is that all the points you raised is exactly why I have ADHD:

- I align to schedules - my schedule is to the minute because if I don’t have a schedule, I feel lost

- I like lists and spreadsheets - if you see my desk and my phone, I have lists everywhere and I tabulate most things in tables and spread sheets

- I over plan - I plan things so much and get the smallest of details that others don’t see

- I am brilliant at research - I can think outside the box and think critically in research.

My psychologist aligned my traits with examples from now and when I was a kid with the DSM, and yes, I’ve been assessed for inattentive ADHD which means I can hyper focus on things I am interested in and do really well in life. But also, I struggle to filter out white noise and can really struggle in life.

Sorry for any confusion.

As mentioned, BPD can come in all sizes, shapes and forms. It’s ok to have it and it’s okay not to have it.

Maybe a psych can go through the criteria again with you if you are concerned?

Re: COME SHARE YOUR PASSION PROJECT

Hi @PeppyPatti , yeah, I’ve been around for a bit. I’m usually working so I don’t have much time to post even though my heart is in it.

i work in a school and had a few days off because I wanted to resign. I’m having second thoughts now because I like the place I’m at. I just don’t like 2 people. But what’s 2 ppl out of 2500? It’s not even 0.1%

Maybe I have to put my head down and just return? Tell the prin, ‘Honey! I’m home!’ (From the movie, Honey I shrunk the kids)
