Re: I feel nothing

sorry you feel so disconnected @creative_writer, feeling burnt out can be really overwhelming to deal with. is there a grounding exercise or a way that usually helps you reconnect to yourself?

Hello, tell me what is wrong if you feel the courage to do so. .

I am listening I may be a stranger but this is why I am in this site.

@rav3n @Koa30 derealisation and depersonalisation is hard. I tried to listen to music but felt so unconnected, unaffected. It feels awful. Though I’m able to get a bit of a break, my intrusive memories no longer feel real.

@Koa30 I don’t think we met before, it’s nice to meet you 😊

Here for you @creative_writer 💜

Do you think some body-work could help? Some gentle stretches or some PMR?

Re: I feel nothing

Hey @Koa30 good to have you on board!!

A lil tip, if you want other members to be notified that you've responded, you can tag them - use the @ symbol and a drop down will appear, and you can choose their name. If their name isn't there, you can type it out and it should then appear for you to select, then it will show up in blue, like this: @creative_writer

Re: I feel nothing

@Koa30 I usually find 8D music helpful. Normal music doesn’t have the same effect on my brain. Binaural music also works, I guess my brain is designed to want to hear music differently in both ears.

@Jynx stretches might be okay, not sure about PMR, I am starting to feel flashbacky in my body, it usually would bother me by now, but I feel unaffected

@creative_writer oh I see.. well I do hope you feel better.

Cause we all deserve happiness and to feel like we matter.

.

Keep listening to what ever music makes you happy.

Re: I feel nothing

Mm and is that in itself a concern for ya too darlin? @creative_writer like 'Why am I not more impacted by this?' Could be a bit of your freeze response kicking in, shut down to protect from the intensity kinda thing?

Sometimes (as weird as it feels) saying some gentle reassurances out loud can help, stuff like "I know it feels like I'm unsafe but I know I'm actually okay" or like "This sucks now but it will pass, it always does."

Could also always give your preferred support line a buzz and ask for some support w grounding? Sometimes we need that external guidance cos our own system is so frazzled it makes it hard to stick with it and focus.

Sending you some very squishy huggles deary 💜🫂

Sitting here with you too @creative_writer 💜 feeling nothing can be worse than feeling everything, not a nice spot to be.

Welcome @Koa30, nice to meet you!

You both mentioned music as a helping/ coping mechanism, I'm wondering what kind of style you both listen to?
