Share some good news!!!

Share some good news!!!

Hi everyone,

I thought it would be a good start to the year to write any good news here 🙂

So I am going to start with some very exciting news:

My son (24 yr old) has been accepted into the police force. He passed his panel interview last Friday. They told him it would take 3 weeks but he received an email today. He now has to wait for induction at the Academy. I guess they will phone him soon.

I AM THE PROUDEST MUM EVER!!! is an understatement. I am so proud of him, he has wanted this for years and failed once but kept trying. I am so happy for him, when he rang me and told me I was almost crying and then I phoned my sister and a few close friends. It's like I got into the Academy. But I am feeling that this year is a really good start; next we sell our home and then move into a place that we decide and pick for us, with no parents involvment. I AM SOOOOO HAPPY!!!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂

Re: Share some good news!!!

Sorry @BlueBay. My intention is not to trigger you or make you sad. But I get angry when I tthink of what has happened to you.
So, I just want you to focus on this future grandbaby. And looking after your daughter as she goes through her first pregnancy.
So very exciting. So no disrespect meant.

Re: Share some good news!!!

Hi @utopia no anger towards you at all.

Actually I am glad you wrote what you did - to remind me of what I have right now, this moment.

I understand exactly what you are saying. I am going to focus this year on me, my daughter, the baby and helping her as much as i can. I don't give a stuff about what others thing or say anymore. These negative thoughts can just go down the drain.

I know @utopia you are so aware of what my life has been, what i am going through with my parents and I know you are angry. I will keep chatting here to get the support, love and friendships I have made.

You don't know how much your support means to me. xxxooo

Re: Share some good news!!!

@BlueBay. I worried all night that I was too rough with my words to you. No one wants to hear negative talk about people they love. But I do get angry how parents can still harm their children decades later.
So good news. A grandbaby. It was so funny that I kept seeing this baby girl as I was reading your news. She was sitting up. A little tuft of light coloured hair in a pony tail on the top of her head. A bit like Pebbles from the Flintstones with that little tuft on top. She had white little pants -fluffies on. And a bib and one of those head bands that people put on little girls. Clear as day she was. And a very happy little thing.

Re: Share some good news!!!

Hey @utopia

No don't worry, please. All good 🙂

I am so excited it's ridiculous. I want to tell the whole world but i can't just yet, until my daughter has an ultrasound to see how many weeks she is. I got so excited last night, i was looking at prams, basinettes, i can start knitting again. OMG the list goes on and on.

I need to stop and just calm down and wait.

No one will take away my excitement not even my mum, not this time. She cab't take this away can she? This is my joy, my peace and calm, my new addition to my family. If she wants it to be like it is well that's her choice.

So much is happening right now, I can't think. Thank you for being here for me @utopia xxxooo

@Kurra

I have been thinking and do you know what? - I now don't really care what family/friends or the town think. My daughter is 25 yrs old in a stable relationship and are thinking of marriage. Having this baby will just delay things a bit. And if people want to go around and gossip or talk - let them. I couldn't care less.

I know i have brought up my 3 children the best way possible. They have have never beenn involved in drugs, alcohol or any other issues. And it's not as if she is a teenager.

I'm so happy for her because I know the amazing feeling I had when I held her in my arms and I want her to have this same feeling. I wnat to share my knowledge with her and share support and care for them all.

Re: Share some good news!!!

Hi @BlueBay

It's just so fabulous - and magical and beautiful - there is a new life growning and it's part of you as well as your daughter and her partner

There might be social stigma around but it's dealt with under completely new laws now - nobody is outside the law because their parents weren't married - and it's not your mother's business - so she can just but out -

It's none of their business

My daughter was pregnant and not planning to marry even though the baby was planned - they changed their minds - I was glad of that but it was none of my business

My gd is one of the two wonderful people in my life - my dd and my gd and I love both of them and they are so precious - don't think about your ratty mother - don't let her spoil this

Enjoy your - yes - I was going to say grandd-daughter - but I am right in choosing the sex of the baby 50% of the time

How wonderful this is

Re: Share some good news!!!

Thanks so much @Decadian

No we won't know the sex of the baby. Although my daughter and her boyfriend were saying that they want to find out, whether they tell us is another story. But i don't mind either way as long as the baby is healthy.

They will be living with us for a little while until they can buy their own home. Things are starting to work out for us Dec, i am still in shock.

My daughter wants to involve in almost everythhing. I am going with her next week for the aultrasound to find out how many weeks she is. I'm so excited. I will be by her side the whole time supportiing her and giving her advice if she wants to take it; and just being there for her.

Re: Share some good news!!!

@BlueBay. I wasn't married when I fell pregnant with my boy. I was 31 years old. I married his dad - purely to speed up immigration.
To me, marriage doesn't matter very much. It's all down to whether the parents will be there for this child. And your dtr and her partner will. That's all that matters.
Stop looking at the baby stores on-line. Lol. I know you are! ! That can wait. But knitting is good to start at any time.
And you will have to order the skip and start culling your possessions.
Have a great day
