Oh does that mean I have mental illness and they can put me in a mental hospital? I dont want to go to mental hospital I just want ppl to stop trying to make me upset and just act normal like they used to and be friends ...

Having a mental health condition doesn't mean they will put you in a hospital. I have a mental illness too - in fact, I have a few. @NotInsane

The reason they may want you in a hospital can be:

1) to get the right medication

2) if they feel you are not safe

3) if they want to observe how your mental health may be affecting you

Please know, you are not placed in a hospital because someone 'felt like it' or they 'just wanted to'.

Hope this helps.

Re: New & family problems

But they make me upset and then they say Im insane and I have to see a shrink is that mental illness if they make me upset? Can they just make me upset and say i have mental illness? @tyme @Former-Member @Lostsoul30 @Ru-bee

Re: New & family problems

Did they literally say, "You have a mental illness?" Or has it been perceived that way @NotInsane

It seems that many people do have a mental health condition at one point in their life of another.

Rather than focusing on the 'illness' or 'condition', can I ask, are you pleased with how things are going in your life? Or are there things you feel you need to work on in order to have more functionality?

No one can MAKE you recover. Yet recovery starts with an acceptance that something needs to change. I'm not sure where you are at the moment, and hence I'm asking.

Re: New & family problems

Hey @NotInsane just catching up on your posts - and to answer your question, no, not at all! Every single human being alive needs to depend on other people, it's how we evolved! It does absolutely make it that much harder if the people you rely on are not being gentle and supportive, but that is a reflection on them, NOT you.

Even outside of the pressures from family though, all of us do need help and support from time to time, and with the pressures of our modern world, I am of the opinion that everyone can benefit from accessing mental health support. So maybe you could do so for yourself, when you feel ready - it is YOUR journey after all.
