Celebrating all the (little) good things that happen 😊

Celebrating all the (little) good things that happen 😊

So, I've searched the forums for a 'good things' post, but the only one I could find was full of birthdays and I don't want to rain on that parade.

Anyway, I'm feeling up and up and I've just organised some long distance bushwalks with a friend of a friend for later in the year and I am very excited about it.

And tomorrow I go back to work and my boss was super supportive when I spoke to her today. Yay! (yay for an income and paying my bills!)

Tinder guy wanted to know what I did for New Years so I told him the truth that I was in hospital. He wanted to know why, so I told him. Bet you $50 I never hear from him again!

That's exactly what I thought. Save myself time and the emotional energy I would have invested and just get it out now. Realistically, there's nothing to loose.

Woohoo @Former-Member. be careful but sounds promising. I got caught up with something a bit strange earlier in the year with a guy who found me on Facebook and no matter what I told him he kept coming. It ended up being a scam looking for money or a green card to Australia. Not sure which one. Just be careful. I do believe there is gorgeous guy out there for you so you never know how you'll find him. Good luck.

Just made an appointment with a therapist for next week. *scared*
Got an appointment with regular psychiatrist on Monday. Which is going to be tricky after my gp asking her if I can have my discharge letter. *evenmorescared*
Wish me luck!!!

Thanks @Former-Member,
I don't think you understand how big of an issue it is though.
It's big.
It's not just normal nerves.
There is so much fear and pain.
I've been pretty badly assaulted as a 12 year old and that caused ptsd and a massive fear of intimate activities.
And then there is the issue of trust and emotional closeness.
Gosh..... I should print this off and give it to my psych. I've been trying to build myself up to say all of this to her, but chickening out again and again.

@Former-Member I came across your thread while drifting around the forums a bit. I won't pretend to know whether I understand the bigness of your issue or not. However, I can tell you that I am 39 and the only romantic relationship I have ever had was when I was 14-16 years old and a church leader took a "special interest" in me. To this day I alternate between describing that as "a relationship" and "the abuse." Despite having sued the church involved and going before the Royal Commission, the whole thing is still a big muddle in my brain. I wouldn't have the remotest idea how to even begin going down the avenue of a romantic relationship. Despite being in therapy since I was 19 years old, the notion of a romantic relationship has never really been discussed - that's how far outside of where I'm at, the idea is. So nope, I don't know if I understand the bigness of your situation or not, but when I read your post, I did get a sense that here is someone who may just understand the bigness of my muddle...and that's kind-of a nice feeling
