Re: Best Friends Club

it's hard when you don't have the answers, it's like our brain keeps tryna explain it but there's no confirmation of his intentions 😕 @Blackcloud i've seen lots of high school kids do attention-seeking sorta stuff in the city when i used to go uni too, often they just wanted a reaction and when they didn't get one, they moved on eventually. please do stay safe, i hope things go okay next time!!

@rav3n it wasn’t all that exciting. I’m back home now. Having a tinny dinner since I’m not very hungry

Re: Best Friends Club

I think I understand this.

It is very tough @Fawkes

Perhaps if you read what other people are writing maybe after a little while ---

You can write?

Try and be gentle.

I think us vulnerable here all have different experiences about talking about it. My therapist,-----

after I was accepted into NDIS ----- asked me to stop telling everyone, [edited by moderator] I have a major head injury.

You put these feelings into words, especially for the first time well from my perspective - is both scary and exciting. I think iv got myself the flag on top of me which I can't see '

this person is weird.'

when I first got NDIS.

It takes real courage to share this. That feeling of wanting to connect but being overwhelmed by it is something many understand. Acknowledging that conflict is a big step.

  • It's okay.

Re: Best Friends Club

I understand that you feel disappointed @Fawkes, but I'm sure you know that recovery from MH issues is not linear, there's almost always ups and downs or spirals. I actually started a thread called Snakes and Ladders because I wanted to see what other people's experiences of the ups and downs were.

I'm glad you're engaging with DBT though.

Are you saying you'd rather not connect with other people or that you'd rather not connect regarding a MH issue?

Connection is a fundamental human trait as we are social animals, so connecting is a normal part of life, however some people do find connection difficult.

The SANE forums is definitely a place to reach out and try to find connection and understanding. I'd be happy to chat with you about what's happening for you as I'm sure others would.

I hope you are able to reach a place where you feel ok about reaching out and can be more open, if you wish, on the forums.

Re: Best Friends Club

@Fawkes I was concerned you might feel like that when I read some responses. Your feelings are legitimate for you and putting our feelings in perspective is what we all do. Some may even feel defensive of any community they are part of. Please go gently with yourself.

Re: Best Friends Club

@Fawkes you okay? I'm not sure what's happened but if you need to talk it through 'offline' please do feel free to reach out to us via team@saneforums.org

One thing I can say for certain is that it's not just you, because every single situation always has other factors at play that will shape not just how it unfolds, but also how we respond to it!
