@MJG017 when I went to purchase my car, they had this beauty in the car lot.

If only I had a spare $50K. Lol

So sorry about the news about your antidepressant. That is a blow particularly when you have been feeling so well lately. You sound like you have been keeping busy.

Dear @Mustang67

What a nightmare !!

I used to drive millions of miles when my children were little - I studied, cleaned houses, worked a lot plus children. Then married someone who couldn't drive for 10 years.

If I was you, do you need to do extra driving ? Can you somehow cut down on your driving and only drive in important issues ?

You have a story there. It's tough and your medication may need to be juggled by your GP ? Ide probably not cope at all if my antidepressants were not at top form.

It feels like you have support from your partner ?

Today I hardly drive - my new husband does all the driving.

It has made me realise I was having panic attacks almost every night ----- my stress levels were high. I was in a high emotional state for years and years.

I didn't understand my own body.

Oh wow! It does sound like you were very lucky to come out of the accident as well as you did! If not your Dad, someone was looking out for you! It must have been a massive hit! So many people will try to blame the other person. I bought a dashcam for my partner last year for this very reason.

So we now both have FG XR6s... and it's blue as well! Mine is a darker blue though.

I think it takes everyone a while to get confidence back after an accident like that. It can really shake you up for quite a long time.

That is so annoying about the meds...and so incredibly frustrating!! I really hope for your sake you can find something a lot quicker to work this time and not have to go through all of that again. I really hope that it works much faster this time and you can start to find some if that happiness that you deserve so very much.

Thank you @MJG017. I actually saw a dark blue FG XR6 today. Nice!

I really like the look of them.

I do feel a little bit safer in a bigger car. The Mazda 6 had 7 airbags and not one of them deployed during the accident. I hope the airbags in this car work.

My partner bout a new car in 2021 and while she was doing the paperwork I went out in the year to drawl over a very similar Mustang.

Now that I don't exactly need to save for a retirement anymore, you don't know how tempting it is to cash the savings and go out very happy! ,🤣

Re: Best Friends Club

@PeppyPatti I used to always let my partner's drive, but when I purchased my first XR6 Turbo, I would always drive. I hardly let my current partner drive my new XR6, as he doesn't have a great driving record.

I know it will just take time for me to get my confidence back. Plus I need to get used to driving a bigger car. I swear parking spaces have shrunk these days. Lol

I hate having to go through changing my antidepressants. I don't go well when doing the change over. And I changed to different one last year because of the side effects. So I got different ones, with a different set of side effects.

Re: Best Friends Club

@Oaktree I don't mind keeping busy helping my mum. She lost her husband (my step dad) on Christmas day 2023. They were married for 46 years and she really missed him. So by helping her out, I can keep an eye on her and her health. She is 85 next month.

And since I lost my partner 22 years ago, I know how she feels through her stages of grief and I make myself available if she ever wants to talk. I think that my sisters don't want to bring up my dad around mum, but I know it is OK to do so, and to relive good memories.

Re: Best Friends Club

@MJG017 that would be awesome to go out very happily in a mustang.

Do you have superannuation that you can cash in early because of your diagnosis? That would help you get a beautiful mustang.

Would you get an older one or newer one.

I withdrew my super during COVID when you could. It wasn't a lot because I only had a number of fart time jobs when I was younger. The social anxiety was always a huge barrier for me so I tended to stay somewhere if I felt comfortable there. How much I got paid was irrelevant to me as I was by myself so no one else to support.

I would like an older one but I would probably get a newer one. Realistically though id get whatever I could afford.
