I was at church and the service hadn't started... we're having 2 christenings today from 2 large church families... A weird old lady approaches me and calls me someone else... I don't know her and say so... I was more interested in figuring out where to sit... I normally sit on the right hand side nearest the accessible entrance... I get much too overwhelmed if I'm in the back two thirds of the hall because there are too many people in front and I'm too far away from an exit... that I feel trapped... there are 8 rows so I can tolerate the front three fine... but it was the fourth row full of tall people in front... I couldn't make an easy exit if I had to... so I grab my bag and walk outside crying praying for someone to notice me... he asks me if I'm ok and I say no, that I'm overwhelmed by too many people and being too far back...

What he says? "I'm sure it will all settle down once they're all seated"

He walked away and I jumped in my car and went home.

@avant-garde oh that sounds so dismissive, I'm so sorry you had that experience. Not everyone understands what it's like to have anxiety.

@Former-Member I don't think I'm up to listening to that sermon, it's all about judging others and needs unmet and who are we to want our needs to be met by others...

@avant-garde find something else to watch and listen to. Something calming to soothe the soul. I'm about to head in to the shops so I may not reply for a bit. But I'll be around later ❤️.
