Re: Best Friends Club

I can't take credit for it @Glisten, that would go to Dr Dan Siegel as far as I know.

When I learnt about it, it resonated a lot with me and helped me explain a lot about myself and helped me to get better control of those doubts and anxieties I'd lived with for most of my life.

Re: Best Friends Club

Hey everyone,

@tyme @MJG017 @Oaktree @Glisten

@PeppiPatty @Jynx @Ru-bee @rav3n

@Shaz51

I'm so glad that I activated my Wellness Plan when I did last night!

I went from hypomanic to euthymic in a matter of hours. And @Glisten and @Oaktree are right, sleep was the biggest factor. It was literally overnight! I'm feeling good now, optimistic for my recovery journey.

Signing off for the night - taking a leaf out of @Oaktree 's sleep hygiene book.

Night night!

Good morning, @MJG017 , how are you travelling today?

Re: Best Friends Club

Hi @Spirit_Healer i only just got up and sitting on the bed checking my phone, so its a bit early to say what today is like. I have nothing on today, apart from a nurse coming over soon to give me an injection. The weather looks nice, so im hoping for a nice relaxed day.

I hope you day goes just as well. If not better. I read you other post, and it seems like you've definitely found a keeper in this man who feels the sane about you.

Re: Best Friends Club

@MJG017 just thinking about him makes me happy.

We were messaging, from when I reached out because I couldn't sleep, until 23:59 last night, so I'm giving him some space today. Waiting to hear from him if he choose to initiate. I really need to bring this up with him: it's always me that initiates. How do I start the conversation with him?

Hi @Glisten how are you doing today?

Re: Best Friends Club

@Spirit_Healer

I can be hard. I'm exactly like that... if i dont constantly hear from someone I worry that I've upset them or turned them off somehow.

I know now that it is a reaction based on my lifelong attachment issues, but it's still hard. So i wait to be contacted for that reassurance. Maybe you are both like that? If he's feeling equally anxious about this then talking it through may be extremely helpful for you both.

You're probably asking the wrong person about how to initiate a conversation. But maybe just send a message saying 'hi' and that you enjoyed the messaging last night and that you hope it didn't cost him too much sleep. Then maybe ask if he finds it a bit difficult to initiate conversations. If he does, then I think he's really like to get that out in the open so that anxiety can be greatly reduced. Either way, i think it's best to talk about these things. He seems like he has been very understanding so far and has shown he does have some anxiety issues so I think he will understand.
