Destiny

Destiny

Hi @tyme ,

I would like to know more about destiny. I hadn’t really been in tune with my feelings, but when you mentioned about destiny things became came clear in my mind and my focus on the positive improved a lot. The one thing I wanted to ask was what if the destiny I am focussed on isn’t the same for her and she has other ideas. Were we really on the same page? I thought so, but then thought we weren’t. Is it ok to put all my heart into an outcome that I don’t know would be the same for her?

Re: Destiny

yep i agree @Oaktree, i still have moments where someone asks me what i do, and they have no idea what i mean when i say "peer worker".

i am glad that peer work is getting much more attention now! hopefully one day i can say "i'm a peer worker" without having to explain the role description for 5 mins (actually i do like talking about what we do but you get what i mean) 😆

Hey @Rockdog ,

How you doing? Thanks for the bday wishes. I'm not doing anything for my bday. I'm not a bday person. Except, I have to say that I've booked to see the Tarzan music later this week. I wanted front row seats so I couldn't book it on my bday as they were sold out.

What have you been up to?

Hey @Rockdog , I was only sharing your story with the wide SAEN team today. It's still so amazing that you are here to tell your story. I recognise it is hard, but honestly, life is hard.

Good things are worth the fight, wait, sweat and tears.

Is there anything in partcular that is making life 'crazy'?

Re: Destiny

Hi @tyme,

things had been going along really well for a while. I did meet someone I really liked and things were progressing. Then the whole ‘ you don’t love yourself ‘ thing came up. And you don’t have direction. Both are still true so I haven’t worked on them properly and now I will probably lose someone I care for. I was talking to her last night and felt sick because it is true. I thought I was faking it but I obviously wasn’t. I am wondering if maybe you could help me with the counselling because I do need a direction. You know how sometimes you think things might be looking good and you end up back where you were before? I think I might have ruined things and it turns out I never progressed anywhere. Hope things are going well with you.

Hey @Rockdog ,

So so good to hear from you! Life is totally trial and error. The main thing is that we do our best not to repeat the same mistake. In working with you, I've noticed that you often doubt yourself; like you tell yourself you can't do it, when really, you know more than anyone!

One thing I have always kept in my heart is that if something is for me, it WILL work out.

Don't feel you have to rush.

Also, 'loving yourself' doesn't mean you have to be obsessed with yourself or over do anything. Loving yourself is about acccepting who you are - the strengths and the weaknesses. You are you and people like you for who you are.

Go slow mate - one step at a time.

Be open with her. Be honest with her about how you are feeling. OPen communication is so important in any effective relationship.

Thinking of you
