That sounds like a good idea to go for dinner. I am the same I chicken out and stay at home. No I don’t have any friends to g9 out with. I have a few friends who have their own life- families etc. No one that is old and single,

i see what you mean, it is scary putting yourself out there!

this is something i've been working on with my social anxiety - i basically make a promise to myself like 'attend the event for 5 minutes' - and no matter how its going, i have to stay there for the full 5 minutes. once the 5 mins is up, i can stay longer if i feel like it or i can exit the event and i usually treat myself for surviving it.

is this something you think you would try?

that is a good idea, yes I could try that. Going out is just getting worse for me.

It is a few years ago now. At the time I hated my life and was going through a miserable time and hated life, but I had her support. Now even though I am in a better place, I just want to go back to spend time with her. She told me ‘all you get from looking back is a sore neck’. That was fine at the time when it was happening. Even though I was in such a bad place, I want to reverse to see her 😢
