i'm going alright @Rockdog haven't been too social recently and had some plans get cancelled which was a bit of bummer. on the plus side, my friend's booked nice dinner for next week and it'll give me a chance to focus on my female-friendships.

That sounds nice. Always a bummer when things get cancelled. I am not doing anything just socially isolated. I had been thinking of taking myself out, but that just reminds me how isolated I am so I’ll just stay home. My Hawks are playing tonight so tonight is good.

It's a bit anxiety-inducing taking yourself out, isn't it? @Rockdog the first few times I did it, I felt so uncomfortable but then I found that wearing headphones or taking a book/laptop/some sort of activity with me to public places helps with feeling a lil less alone. Do you have something that you do/take with you that makes you feel a bit more comfort/less alone in public places?

I don't know much about AFL but i'm a bulldogs supporter by default (my dad supports it so i just copied him) - hope you enjoy the match!

I go out during the day at the coffee with a book or my study and I am more than fine. It is just if I go out at night to listen to band or some music. Everyone else is with their friends. It is strange, I don’t really care, but then I do as well. I sort of think I might meet people but never do lol.

ohh i see, it's more of the night time events @Rockdog honestly, that makes sense that you feel a bit uneasy, putting yourself out there and making new connections isn't the easiest thing to do!

i know in some cities there's events that are specifically run so you can meet new people - i think they're more 'dinner events' but even then, it might a nice place to start building confidence/connections. i've been meaning to try one of those types of 'meet new people' events but have chickened out haha its my 2025 goal now.

do you have a friend who's into band/music as well that you feel comfortable inviting for a night out?
