Time away from forums

Time away from forums

Hi all

I’ll be spending some time away from the forums since I’m not doing so good, no safety concerns, but I think I’m just simply too much for everyone here on the forums. My emotions are too much. May brain is too much. I don’t want to drown people in my pain, everyone is better off with me off the forums. I hope our paths cross again. Will say goodbye and wish you all the best. Sorry for being a pain

Re: Time away from forums

@tyme the constant masking is the problem. Surely you should be able to relief some of the mask when at home, but I can’t. I’ve always found it frustrating when people have told me to be more open with my parents about life since they are, I’m like how. It doesn’t work that way for me.

Look I love my parents, but I don’t want to be like them either. There as aspects I love about them, but also aspects I don’t like very much. There is a lot of guilt attached around talking about it. My mother in particular has said stuff when emotional, like she has had arguments with my dad which ended up with her having suicidal thoughts. I have heard things and I am not even sure she realises the impact of her words. But I never feel like she has the capacity to listen and hear me out since she already has her own stuff. My dad is a problem solver and has no idea on dealing with emotions

I don't think you are alone. For me too, there are aspects I love about my parents and other things? Not so much. When I see them now, I mask too. It's too hard to explain life otherwise. @creative_writer

@tyme there are aspects I love and aspects I hate. Overall, I still love them and I think they tried their best. I don’t really see my mum as manipulative, I think she sometimes gets highly emotional. She may talk about death, but I think internally she is saying “I need you to see and hear me, it is really overwhelming for me right now”.

Re: Time away from forums

Was good to be away and wake up to the amazing view everyday @creative_writer but there is no place like home.

Re: Time away from forums

@Snowie a good view is always lovely to wake up to. It is true no place is like home, but I do feel sometimes we do need to get away, staying in one place for too long can feel too much

Re: Time away from forums

I think getting away does do us good @creative_writer but am looking forward to my own bed tonight!!

I also think being busy every day does help with our MH. It seems to help clear my mind a bit.

Re: Time away from forums

@Snowie I too find staying busy helpful, but the emotions build up over the week, by the weekend I may feel overwhelmed and just exhausted. Maybe it’s about the balance between staying busy and processing.

Nothing beat your own bed

It is hard to find that balance at times @creative_writer

I find coming home difficult at times, as the problems are still there, but at the same time I can have a new perspective on them and even a new fresh set of eyes.

Putting things of can be very overwhelming hon.
