Hi.........I am new here and have no idea what I am doing or the correct place to post this...ahh well......a little about me I guess, I am female 35 been dealing with chronic mental health from a very young age.. I don't really know what else, but please don't be afraid to ask me. Ok I guess here goes nothing.

I am struggling with some pretty intense and heavy emotions and they are getting incredibly more difficult to sit with. My life has changes drastically in the last 8-10 months, I am no longer working in the mental health sector, I have had a crisis hospital admission, Hospital in The Home and two 28 days stays for mental health. For context I have been doing well for about 6 years with no contact with public mental health services just my GP and private psychologist.

From that admission it was assessed that I was in a Complex Post Traumatic Stress episode. Now I have extensive history with services from my hear youth till about 25ish, and it was never mention to me nor did I hear it about myself until this year. The week before my admission my therapist and gp and both written that I was experiencing PTSD episode in a support letter, again had never hear this for myself (I knew if that makes sense but guess didnt feel real).

So this is something I am struggling with immensely. It has made some very hard realisation come to light and things that hurt a lot. I was so use to telling myself for so long that it wasn't that bad and that I was over exaggerating. But this is like physical concert evidence that it wasn't. My therapist even said something she probably shouldn't have (her words not mine) in that, she has worked for child protection and my case is the worse she has heard. Its hard to thing that your whole childhood was basically extreme (something I am still learning to say and/or sit with, it does not feel comfortable to me).

Here was me thinking my hospital admission was an over exaggeration............

During my two 28 day stays I had access to a form of trauma therapy known and imagery re-scripting. Both times during my stay I did sessions of this. It is intensive and changes some of your perspectives and beliefs that you have held for life. It has been one of the most powerful things I have every done in therapy. It has mostly been a positive experience however it has caused a lot of grief and hurt in way I never expected to feel it eg- for little me, for what I lost, what I experienced etc.

I can not explain how incredibly lonely this journey has made me feel tho, its like a level I have never experienced before. I feel I can not connect to others but also learning that I have had to navigate most of my life alone without support from family, at times professional support yes but not the same.

I am suffocating in pain, pain that I have blocked out for yeas and new pain that I am not use to. the grief is so heavy that I sometimes just don't even want to carry it anymore.

I feel that I struggle to express myself and my thought go faster than my fingers- plus irl i find it hard to stay on track anways.

I hope it at least makes some sense- be kind with me as I navigate new forum life I will find it hard to know my place when I should day something or when I should not. I am very socially awkward so I assume the same will be here

Re: Healing hurts

@Glisten and @Shaz51 it definitely was a good sleep and much needed, lake of sleep makes me fall apart even easier than normal.

I am trying to get it all done today as I have a memorial tomorrow, so hopefully means I can just come home and look after myself for Sunday Monday.

I am just so tired of feeling like a raw nerve all the time.

Does anyone else get a feeling of wanting to go home, but even if you are physical home you still feel that way *shrugs*

anyways its finally shower and relax time, I am beyond exhausted now.

thanks for being around 😃

Re: Healing hurts

@fairyheart I know how it feels to be completely lost and alone.

Longing to belong

Pining for a home you never had

When I first came to the Forum, I wasn’t sleeping for 2 or 3 days straight and would cry all day.

Just do this symbol @ and the first letters of anyone’s name

We’re here for you.

Re: Healing hurts

Hello @fairyheart

You've done so much today despite being in pain. I'm sorry if you're grieving the loss of someone close to you, and I hope you can connect with others at the memorial.

Sometimes the sense of being at home is as much about people as it is about place.

I don't feel at home either.

Re: Healing hurts

@Glisten yeah its definitely a new experiences for me, I am not use to feeling lonely at all really a now on this level its just taking it out of me, then plus the trauma processing on top of all that its just exhausting. I appreciate that thank you I am not use to people being around for me to be honest.

@Dimity I am sorry to hear that you do not feel at home either, its an unsettling feeling for sure. I don't even know what mines about but its been with me my whole life, I can often occurs when I am struggling to stay earth side (not the case now). Thank you, it will be a challenging memorial in more ways than one, but I have my friend (emotional support human) coming with me to help.

I am so beyond tired now, I may have over done it today now my body is just as sure as I am from all the hurt and heaviness- its all just so yucky.

I have had a shower so I am toast and warm from the inside. I have homemade pumpkin soup with dinner rolls to eat. So I am going to make that and snuggle up on the couch and watch TV.

Even my eyes are sore. This is seriously so exhausting.

I hope the Saturday evening in kind to you all. please know I am so grateful for this space and the people here already!!!

Morning @fairyheart

How does today find you, did you get some sleep last night, its rather chilly this morning in NSW, my cat has the right idea all wrapped up in a heavy blanket on the couch....Asgard

Re: Healing hurts

Hey @Asgard,

I appreciate you thinking of me! I am unsure if this was Sunday or today haha.

But the memorial went well, I was able to connect with some of my old coworkers. I did not stay the full time but lasted two and a half hours.

I slept ok just very broken.

It was cold here in WA early this morning as well but hasn't been to bad today as the sun is out.

My cats love the blanket as well, especially the heated throw!

I'm feeling pretty lousy today, I have made some potato and leek soup si hopefully that will help some.

How are you doing??

Morning @fairyheart

Me, I'm good I guess, though have been having a lot of crazy dreams of late, they are soo full on that I seem to be exhausted when I wake up. Its soo cold here at the moment, that potato and leek soup sounded lovely and warm. How are you feeling mores the point, what do you get up to juring the day......Asgard

Re: Healing hurts

I find it so hard to function when its so cold, @Asgard I hope you manage to stay warm. Yesterday I did not do a great deal to be honest. Just did some journaling and coloring in and made the soup.

This morning I am spending some time updating my resume so I can slowly think about that process of getting back to work.

I am just so sad and so heavy that this sort of stuff is just really hard. I feel its hard to express as I do not want to overstep. I am safe- but I guess at the moment that's just frustrating if that makes sense.

Re: Healing hurts

Tell me about it @fairyheart , not a fan of the cold, have mittens on as I type this. Am also tidying up my resume, as money wise I will need to get back into the workforce soon. I scored a job interview this morning which has given me a bit of an ompf to my step.

Its amazing how little things like that perk me up, the sound of that potato and leek soup prompted me to heat up some oxtail soup, just from a tin, but it was yummy.

I know what it feels like to feel heavy /sad but I guess the little wins make things more mangeable. What are ye having for lunch by the way....Asgard

Re: Healing hurts

Yep, I am rugged up as well, thankfully my hand are not cold at the moment, but does look semi sunny outside. @Asgard I am not sure what is for lunch yet its only 9.30 over in WA, but it will probably be just some of the soup I have in the fridge as the rest went into the freezer. I don't this it matters as long as you had a feed and soup is good when its so cold.

Urgh the fact its only 9.30 is very painful for me.
