Shame and vulnerablity

Shame and vulnerablity

Good morning, I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts of shame. How we feel shame for our lives being not so perfect. Shame for our weaknesses . I feel like this feeling I have of feeling ashamed hinders me. What do you all think.

Hi @Former-Member,

I'd be interested to hear about how you're going with the ACT stuff - if you'd like to chat about where you're getting stuck perhaps we could open another thread?

Re: Shame and vulnerablity

Hi @esprit

I struggle immensely with shame, guilt and perfection. I feel so ashamed of what has happened to me as a child; what i am going through at the moment and just my daily struggles. I get angry with myself for not being a better person and feel guilty quite a lot.

Re: Shame and vulnerablity

Hi blue bay, it's hard to stop negative thinking patterns that have manifested since childhood. There was s so much shame about even the little things in life , like the way we look or our financial standing or our contributions as a society. I really don't know what to do about these feelings of inadequacy. After a while it just makes you feel bone tired. More thought s anyone??

Money doesn't make me happy

In fact thinking about it too much makes me feel worse

Weekly online groceries is about it

And i'm trying to keep things simple
