MH in the workplace

MH in the workplace

I was wondering how people manage mental health in the workplace. It’s something I’ve struggled with and especially at the moment. It makes dealing with the interpersonal side and politics of work complicated, and can turn into a chicken and egg thing where I don’t know the my MH is influencing my outlook or vice versa. I keep my MH experiences to myself for the most part, other than maybe once making a lighthearted comment about having a therapist. It’s a real challenge for me and really has gotten in the way of my career progression. I honestly don’t think I can see myself stepping up further in my career and so much of my life has been in and out of therapy and focused on improving my MH as a focus.

I'm glad to hear it's okay @Hyperballad .

Hope it stays that way. I'm here if you need a chat.

@tyme It ended up getting a little rougher yesterday and this morning I’m still feeling it a bit. I’ve been doing breath work and reached out to the MH team at my nearby hospital. A year ago I wasn’t necessarily in this position but I’ve been in a position of dealing with a lot of anxiety about the future and regret about my life choices, with the stuff of therapy adding to it. I’m just going to ride this out to see whether there’s a non-linesr pattern of therapy hangover and improvement.

Hi @Hyperballad

I'm so glad to hear you've reached out to the MH team at hospital. That can be such a scary step but it's so amazing of you to have done that. Have you heard back from them yet?
