hallucinations are scary cause they seem real to us.
The kids and I have good supports in place thanks to my career/partner will take the kids on few day break leave me at home w a support worker I try my best to spend time with the kids. The oldest doesn't live w us so it's phone contact w her

@Daddymac without the kids we could be sorta twins. I live in tiny town in SA. There are only about 100 people, but did live in Adelaide before that when the wagon started going wonky.

Being a big fat poof in a title town canbe fun. Or not really. My husband works away every second week so left home alone. I do have an assistantant ant dog, so he helps. Before I have a seizure he give a warning and stays or brings me home.

I love cooking, despite some watches it goes silly. I love making cakes, hence the fat but. But sometimes it doesn't work. The recipe says add eggs, so chuck the shells in to. Or it says sugar, so put salt in white too. Or says chocolate to add Vegemite because both are brown.

It does sound like your dementia is a fast type than mine. I have a thing that makes my blood turn into glue. Have lots of little strokes. My epilepsy then has brain rave party and sometimes burns a bit of the grey matter.

My filter is going and memories from a long time ago appear today. For me it scares the shit out of me. One day I was with someone shot . It regularly pops up as if now.

Do you get the talking cars? They're always nice to me...

Hope tomorrow is a little bigger.

Re: Living w early on set dementia

@Daddymac all my life there has been slow brain damage the gets worse. But the bigger issues really started about 20 years ago. Had to give up work in my 30s. Never allowed to drive because I'd run people under. Last 5 years has become more a problem. The seizures get bad, I fall down stars or into barber wire and break bones or make sores myself. Neurologist and medical team a little more worried now. Have done some serious damage.

One of the best things in my life at the moment is I ride my bike into a bigger town for shopping and post.

We only have one bus per day, so getting to Adelaide for genie and neuro can be hard. They write a letter for me to give to the bus driver, because after 3 hours on the bus forget what was meant to go.

How long your brain going to .

@Daddymac

Moo Moo.

Writing this in the morning, it should be better. When the morning battery is full, things work better...

Anyway... Good morning.

Hope today is better for you.

If you don't mind, I'm gonna ask a couple of questions tomorrow about what happened today?

  • Did you manage to get out of bed? If so, clucking fabulous.
  • Did you have a wash and brush those pearled teeth? If so, more chicken fabulousness.
  • Was it possible to get the mail from the letter box and spend some time with the family just hanging out? If so, that's a loud chicken coop of friggin good.
  • Did you do something enjoyable for yourself that made you feel good and was just self indulgent? I don't know what, but for me it's sometimes just sitting on the couch watching a good movie and eating some chocolate I bought yesterday. If you did manage today to do something self indulgent, doesn't really matter what it was... Friggin free range chicken farm.

Not trying to blow wind up ya bum. But if it was possible today to do one or a few of these little things, we've probably had a better day than it might have been.

Reread some of the stuff from last night. Shit when I get tired making sense is really difficult, but who cares?

Again not trying to blow more wind. I hope you can cut yourself a little more slack today. My diagnosis from when I was sixteen (ish) has meant I've had a long time to prepare, adapt, and put in place support stuff. You've had bugger all time to react, adapt and set up support stuff. I really am amazed that you've had a significant punch in the guts and are still looking at how there are good things like your family. Seriously, not blowing wind.

My journey down Swiss cheese lane has been a slow race; like a turtle on ketamine having a race with it's own shadow. Sounds like you race has started much quicker. I do hope you give yourself a little slack today, that it's a huge amount to take in over a short period of time. Saying you're not okay today is okay. Looking forward to hearing from you if you'd be comfortable chatting from time to time. It does me good to hear from you, I hope it is okay for you too. I find it hard and soul sapping and I've had more time to prepare for what's happening now. You've had a blink of an eye time, it's absolutely reasonable and understandable to feel like it's clucking crap. Suspect you're still grieving about the changes. That's okay too. It is good you've sought to talk about things.

Although, I don't know about you. But time to time I'd like to reach over to one of those people sitting in their leather armchairs and give em a good slap. Won't do it, but you never know...

I am gonna ask a favour from you this week. I'm seeing my psychologists on Wednesday. We will need to rake over some serious trauma. This always knocks me for six, and I'm hoping the recommendation isn't medication that turn me into a zombie. Last time it was just friggin shit.

Will you please ask me on Thursday if I'm okay?
