i have to disagree.. i had to re read what @Rick had written to find his offensive language etc
This is suppose to be a place were we can freely express ourselves in an environment where we feel safe.
If u live in an environment that is contolling and this is the only place we can open up safely the initials dh is far from offensive. If he was personally acttacking u n did it ok. We are all adults here.

Boundaries wow what a big one, and one that I find so difficult. That NO word is so hard to say and stick with. You see I have this belief that I have to be there for my children no matter what, whatever the time of day or night.and that extends to my grandchildren.Having 4 children and 5 grandchildren it gets stressful and overwhelming at times. I put their needs before my own, and I have ended up in hospital a few times because of that. Where do you find the balance? This is so ingrained in me because of how I grew up. I vowed it would be different for my children.
For me at the moment its another round of dbt.I know it works, but it can be incredibly challenging I am learning new skills.Guess none of this is particularly useful.

Hi @Former-Member
Boundries are a very interesting idea for me, the only one i really have is removing myself from a situation, which is one i am not very good at,
i also will stipulate to most people about my humour and sometimes flirtatious behavior, as in i straight out ask people to let me know if i have crossed a line with them, as soon as they mention it, i realise apologise and we move on, it has really helped me, through life.
i would have to work on other boundries as i don't really have them.
thank you

I am only starting to be clear about my boundaries because for a long time I was trying to find connections rather than difference. Concerned I did not know what was "normal" or ok to take for granted.
I liked @NikNik definition that they are about a conscious decision to do or not do.

Still needing help with this topic ... how do people stay in groups where only some of the people dont seem to mind violating your boundaries ... I am now getting told by a lovely lady that I know the boundary crosser means well ... and I feel upset and defensive and triggered ... talk about walking on eggshells ... I am at backed in corner feeling and edge of tears stage ... I walk on egg shells for others plenty ..
