Re: Anyone feel like chatting? Coffee/Tea ☕💕

Hope you and your dogs enjoy your walk @Former-Member 🙂 I enjoy reading your walking adventures. The cleaning and yard are constant battles for me too, but that's probably because I'm almost too fussy with things so nothing is ever really good enough for me lol. I need to win this one today though because of the inspection. The triple strength hazelnut coffee will kick in soon and I'll be on my way hopefully!

Re: Anyone feel like chatting? Coffee/Tea ☕💕

I wish our Race could give Peace a chance @Spookytookims, but that's not the Human way. Without wars I think there would be total chaos and we would be at war with each other every day. We need leaders and direction (there's too many of us). The problem is those leaders are merely human with individual brain processes that can go just as wrong as anyone else's. Thats when the positve leaders have to organize the people to fight for what's right. So I think that's what War is good for . . . Peace.

Please don't take this wrong, I have never known War and may finish my life never knowing it - and I am grateful to those individuals who sacrificed all for peolple like me.

Peace be with you

P.S. Good Morning 🙂 (I really don't mean to be this heavy first thing in the morning!)

This comment it really insightful @Former-Member - you are right - without our fuzzy-minded leadership we would be at a state of civil war constantly - but as it is - human beings like to protect their space - as indeed to other animals - and war, plague and famine are required to thin the numbers of an over-breeding species who seem not to bother with Zero Population Growth

Before I push my soap-box under the table - I really feel like crying when I see that little boy - Pierre - starving - and wonder about the whole situation - how can mothers bring children into a world like this when there country is so decimated with poverty? But I have learned that they often have no choice and this saddens me more.

And @Spookytookims - I like what you said too -

It's ANZAC Day today so yes - I think appropriate to share our feelings in a chat thread - I often wonder if my grandfather's met each other in France during the Great War (WW1) - they were both in the British Expeditionary Forces and fought in the same battles though one was an ANZAC and the other one was British. I wonder if they ever met? My parents werem't born until after the Great War and I will never know but I wonder if two soldiers ever sat over a mug of hot sweet tea and a cigarette or three and talked never knowing they would share the same grandchildren

And I was born during WW2 and it seems to me that there has been a war somewhere all my life -

But I give thanks that in Australia at least we have not had it in our face all these years - and we can hope and pray that this will continue to be the case

Thanks for these messages Niq and Spooky

Hi all, I'm a pacifist too, though I recognise that war has existed throughout the ages of humanity. Doesn't mean we can't do without it. I'm also very cynical about our leaders (who isn't?), and the whole way the world operates, based on rampant, de-humanising capitalism. Yes, that endless race for greater wealth (mostly in the hands of the top 1%). That's what I see war as really being about. I think of war as something that ordinary people have been subjected to over the ages, rather than having been the cause of. Then we get used as cannon fodder. What I see for the most part of life is ordinary people basically getting on okay. I'm not sure at all we need the leaders we have. Most of them simply scare me. But I do remember my own ancestors and all the others on all sides who tragically lost their lives in the First World War. Lest we forget.

Thank you @Niqueeta for your greetings and well wishes. Having a quiet day watching the ANZAAC Day march on TV. What a proud lot they look as they remember the fallen. Have a good day and sending well wishes and good cheer. Best wishes from Bimby2.

I'm not going against you @Mazarita, I am a pacifist and a coward. But I think before money our Wars were over hunting grounds and the rights to breed - and I think our species is not the only one that does so. But our race, the self-proclaimed most intelligent, most powerful rulers of this Planet, have become extremely complicated and as such so have our conflicts. But I do see beauty in people believing in something so completely that they will give their all so that future generations may have the chance to see it. I don't think this day should be about any one War, but all. It should be about striving for the right things and safety for the future canon fodder.

I was an Army wife for a few years, I have heard many stories - both good and bad. It's almost like War is an exposure to the Human soul.

What we should not forget is that there is good within all of us.
