@Former-Member that would be really interesting and cool work! Oh awesome, is it Criminology related?

Yes I do find it interesting, my benzodiazepine withdrawal last year has me on the ropes a bit. Still trying to get my study "mojo" (as another member put it!) back. I was originally getting Distinctions but I'm going to be lucky to get credits this semester unless I sort myself out

yeah @Dothemo. I got my research because I started getting HDs again... I had to leave it entirely while I was in the worst of my PTSD, I couldn't concentrate at all. It was hopeless even trying, I couldn't even watch 10mins of a movie let alone try to concetrate on study sources for essays or make decent notes in lectures.

@Former-Member congratulations on the high distinctions, that's excellent, can you share your secret with me?!

Sorry to hear that the PTSD effected you like that. If you don't mind me asking, how did you get your concentration back in the end? Was it a matter of overcoming the PTSD?

Re: Anyone feel like chatting? Coffee/Tea ☕💕

yes I believe so @Dothemo, I believe it was that I naturally developed my own form of CBT, (which I had not heard existed until recently but when I read about it it seems very close to how I did it) that coupled with mindfulness, not the empty mind kind but the focus kind.

I had already practiced that prior to my PTSD and had spent time with monks in Thailand, so I had a fairly good grounding of what to do and I applied the skills I had innately. It certainly wasn;t easy, it was in fact extremely arduous and at times I thought I was getting nowhere.. but eventually it seems to have worked and cleared the fog almost completely at this stage. Though there are still hiccups and probably will be for a while, I think it's to be expected anyhow after what I went through.

@Former-Member it sounds like you could write a book about your CBT method, it sounds ground breaking. I imagine that it would be very powerful coupled with mindfulness. I would love to discuss this further tomorrow if you wouldn't mind? I haven't met anyone before undertaking Uni studies before that has overcome so much. I'm hoping to also.

Anyways I have an early appointment tomorrow so it's off to bed for me, have a great night
