Soul sister

Soul sister

@Former-Member

Morning appointment with psych was really tough. She stopped desensitization after about ten minutes because I was too distressed Did have a minor breakthrough - we both realised that I can relax more when listening to relaxation music without commentary or words - haven't been able to relax like that before - nearly fell asleep!

Did feel sick and had a massive headache for the rest of the day.

Saw GPin the afternoon and as usual came out more positive and with a bit of life in me - she's an absolute angel.

Hoping for you it is nothing serious. Easy for me to say don't stress until you find out - know that is difficult, know I would think the worst even if my head said there was nothing to worry about. xxx

Re: Supporting a friend with terminal illness

@Former-Member That's good sis. Have a nice dinner?

It's Story Time (or as we call it in class - 'tory time).

There once was a girl who loved taking her dog to the beach. The weather had cleared, the sun was out, so off they set. On the way she decided to ask her sister, his fiance and their dog along for the ride - they accepted the invitation and off they went. While driving to the beach they discussed the huge downpour from the night before. The fiances ute was filled with water. He proclaimed that it had actually spilt into the cabin of the ute and soaked all his receipts (for his business). The sister started to tell him off and the girl driving said shhh - we are going to the beach! The sister had another go about the receipts - this time in a very aggressive tone. The girl driving once again commented by saying "don't speak like that - we are going to the beach, and there is nothing you can do about the receipts until we get home anyway". The sister tried again several times to 'have a go' at her fiance and every time she opened her mouth the girl driving just kept saying 'shh we are going to the beach'. The sister stopped - order maintained - they went to the beach - happy! THE END

Next time, however, the girl and her dog will go on their own!!!!!!

Re: Supporting a friend with terminal illness

Mexican sounds good sis @Former-Member

I know you will do what is best for you and staying home watching a DVD sounds perfect!

What furniture are you looking for? Hope it's something spectacular!!!!

Are you still going to Brisbane tomorrow night?

I am going to a very special party - hosted by @PeppiPatty at @Appleblossom's place!!!

Party hats already ordered

I'm not staying up too late tonight - going to try and get some sleep - still really tired after last night.

Re: Supporting a friend with terminal illness

@Zoe7I doubt I will go to Brisbane tomorrow night- I am not really in the mood to be around so many people. I am just going to have a quite one at home- I might head to the pool but tomorrow night I think I will just cook at home and then settle in with a dvd an popcorn.

I am loooking at bedroom furniture atm.

Is the party on tomorrow night, I hope you order me a party hat sis ???

Re: Supporting a friend with terminal illness

@Former-Member I get that sis. It has been a very big week. If you are feeling better tomorrow and are up to it then you can always change your mind. Sh*t that's a bit positive for me - carpool assertiveness must have boosted my self-esteem slightly!!

I willput in a very special order for a very beautiful party hat - maybe pink and purple with sparkles - or any colour you desire

My bedroom furniture is so old that it is nearly back in style

Have a rather large built in closet in the other bedroom - had to turn that into the spare room (because it is the biggest bedroom) in order to store all my 'stuff'.

It's actually supposed to be clear tomorrow so I might start my goals one day earlier as we are expecting rain on an off for most of the week- don't want to get behind my beach visits because of rain!

Re: Supporting a friend with terminal illness

@Zoe7 Hi sis

I could change my mind by the afternoon but also the person I was going with, is having some dramas too. I was in the car a bit today, we were planning on getting the train up, and I bit hesitant to do that atm, on Christmas day they a lot of the services cancelled in Brisbane and there could be a repeat new years eve and I don't want to get stuck in Brisbane.

I am liking the sound of my very special hat- I think a pink & white hat with sparkles- what about something for my eyes too lol

My goal this year to completely declutter my house and I am starting in the study and then I am not sure what room I will tackle next. I have way too many clothes and I will be donating most or majority to the dog shelter and the rest to family/friends.

How are you feeling tonight?

We will have our new years drink tomorrow?

I might do a pool swim tomorrow as well and then I will have three gym days and that will keep me busy. Remember we didn't finish this week until Saturday.

Re: Supporting a friend with terminal illness

Morning lil sis @Former-Member

I actually fell asleep last night (yea !!!) Nearly 8 hours! Hope you got some sleep too

I get why you may not want to go tonight - don't need the dramas. I would certainly hate for you to get stuck in Brisbane!

I have placed your order for a pink and white party hat with sparkes - and an additional order for some glittery eyewear (will surprise you ).

I too need to declutter my house. I started to do that before I got sick and was doing really well but haven't done any more since. I really need to start in the garage because there is stuff everywhere - can't even find the tools I need when I want to - have been using things and just throwing them back anywhere in the garage. That's been partly because too tired to put things away properly and partly because the garage needs to be rebuilt (very old and leaky) so have stacked things in certain spaces to not get wet.

I did a clothes clean out before I got sick but still need to get rid of more. Most of the clothes I could get rid of now could only be used as rags!!! All my favourites that are falling apart or full of holes (good to wear around the house doing the renovations or in the garden still though). I give my stuff to the Salvation Army. There's a centre really close to where I live so easy to drop things off. I accidently gave away a bag of clothes a few years ago that I had meant to store for winter - didn't realise until I went to get a vest out that my grandmother had made for me to wear to her funeral - as you can imagine I was quite upset about it - even went around all the Salvos centres to see if they still had it somewhere

Re our goals - I have already done the 3 beach trips this week - TICK! Hopefully do one more this afternoon (on our own this time - just me and Toby - and maybe my book!)

I was pretty good last night - I'm now convinced that when I take Toby for a walk along the beach I have a much better night - more relaxed and think less (and when I do have 'stuff' racing around my head I am in a much better space to deal with it). I would go every day if I could but that is not possible so the days I can't I'm going to try to do Tai Chi (at home). Haven't done it for a long time - sure I've still got a dvd somewhere.

Looking forward to our NYE hour (time difference) tonight if you stay home. One drink at midnight for me then (an hour later) another at midnight for you. It's a special occasion so it will be red bull for me and I presume lemon, lime and bitters for you!?

It would make me really happy to spend NYE with my little sis but I would be equally happy if you went out and had a good time also!

I have to go out to meet my Mum in a little while - got a book for her for christmas we need to change. My sister had already bought the same book (and read it) so mum can read hers. No point having 2 of the same.

btw - downloaded fire and the flood onto my phone - is now my new ringtone can't get that song out of my head, which is a good thing - pushes some of the other stuff aside and replaces it with something happy I'm right with you too lil sis Every single line in that song reflects how I feel too

Better have a shower and get ready to meet mum.

Be back around 1ish.

love ya
