**Trigger warning** What are your experiences with a Complex PTSD diagnosis and treatment?

**Trigger warning** What are your experiences with a Complex PTSD diagnosis and treatment?

Hello Everyone

Just wanting to start a discussion on Complex PTSD and what it is like seeking treatment, the stigma that is associated, or the difficulties this diagnosis creates in life?

It would also be useful for people to share some some self-help tips to help people self-care and manage their symptoms?

There seems to be a lack of research and knowledge about Complex PTSD, so I thought it would be useful to start talking about it.

Oh shit - all the time. Any little trigger can send me into a completely dissociative state - anywhere from seconds to minutes.

Definitely - sounds like a completely normal reaction to how your mind deals with the trauma. I can completely shut down and sit for hours and not know where the time has gone. Has been times in my life where I have completely lost days. It;s not a nice feeling when you don't know where the timehas gone but you do know what has put you intothat state.

Next question - multiple traumas from each or just once each?

That's about where my line of comfort is - I cannot name the multiple layer traumas. I find it distressing to think of a way to formulate what has happened.

I dissociate, leave the here and now and also regress at times.

Do you have vivid memories of some instances and then nothing for others?
