Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Hello @PeppiPatty, over here my special friend xx

Hello Everyone

Love to hear from others on the forum if you experience this

My hubby has been diagnosed with lots of things and has had MI all his life

do you find things goes ok and i start to feel confident and wanting to go forward and then everytime something always happens to upset it -- sometimes I think is it a controlling thing ?? that he wants to be in control ??

Don`t know if I am making this up , but i have that feeling ,

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

I am feeling very tired , mr shaz has something in his mind and that is it , I say suggestions that might be a better idea , but he won`t answer

and then we are on our way to what he has decided without telling me before hand

That does sound uncomfortable @Shaz51 And being left out of the decision-making doesn't seem fair.

I hope it's not the "silent treatment" - that really hurts.

An ex once gave me the silent treatment for 7 days straight - refused to talk or acknowledge my existence.

That is excruciatingly painful.

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

it's not the "silent treatment" @Adge , but it is what he decides without telling me what is happening

we worked for 4 hours this morning

and then we went to the city 60 kms away to pick up the pole chainsaw that they could not fix

had lunch and back home again

"silent treatment"is terrible , my dad used to do that with my mum until i got skiny and sick , and then mum and i left

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Hopefully he will get the all clear @Shaz51 . How do you cope when his anxiety peaks? Is there anything you encourage him to do to deal with it - like breathing long and slow and deep for a while, etc?

I need to go offline for a while now but will be back in the morning if not tonight.
